What a beautiful place! This hut is placed in a beautiful bush setting just out of town so you still feel quietly isolated from the town but really it's only 10 mins away. had such an amazing weekend... staying here, the hut has so much character about it, with its little special trinkets within the hut and out in the garden so fun to explore! It was fully set up you felt like you were at home away from home. Comfortable bed and lovely big bath to relax in. I highly recommend this to anyone who would like a get away as a couple or RnR for yourself.

What a beautifully considered bush escape! You can feel the love put into this adobe! The cabin was warm, cosy and thoughtfully curated! So inventive and creative. The bed was comfortable, loved the w...ood fire and soft lighting that immediately slowed me down. Every detail felt intentional from the collected kitchen pieces to the creative use of restored materials around the property.
My favourite spot was certainly the front verandah, sitting in the sun sipping my tea, as I watched the birds take baths! Thanks for having me King Billy. This Queen has certainly found her calm Kingdom and I hope to return someday.

Top spot for a relaxing break.
Finish the day sitting on the verandah listing to the birds flitter between the trees.

Rushworth State Forest
Rushworth State Forest is a 24 300-hectare reserve to the immediate south of town via Whroo Road. It consists of red ironbark, yellow gum and grey box eucalypts with a profusion of wildflowers and orchids after autumn and spring rains. Fauna includes well over 100 bird species, echidna, possums, kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos and the rat-sized marsupial known as the tuan.
It is common to see Kangaroos on the property every day of the year.

Explorin Historic Rushworth
A small country town best known as a former gold rush town in the 1850s. Full of beautiful, historic buildings, I spent all morning wandering the in and around the Main Street.
Waranga Basin
The Basin has areas along its southern edge where kayaking can be enjoyed. Fishing is also an attraction with a reliable mixed fishery of redfin, yellowbelly, Murray crayfish and the occasional trout: thought to be escapees from Goulburn fish farms above Seymour.
Lake Discovery
Nearby is the Waranga Basin/Reservoir, a human-made lake. I was keen for a swim but the weather was a little bit too chilly for to even attempt the water. Fishing, Kayaking and bird watching are popular here. I spent time walking up the shore line, collecting heart shaped rocks. I was really fascinated by the red, earthy tones on the waters edge. Cool spot. Great for a picnic and toilets are there too!
Mountain Bike Riding
Explore the Whoo trail and there are also trails surrounding the property.
