Our charming and cosy two bedroom home is set in a mature wraparound garden, with a raised deck and a fire pit area - and plenty of local birdlife!

Additional Information

COTTAGE DETAILS
Our two bedroom one bathroom cosy cottage is just 7-8 minutes walk from the town centre and a 10-15 minute walk from Lake Daylesford. The cottage is located on a quiet lane with beautiful views over Wombat Hill, the Botanical Gardens and the Old Convent, and is set in a wrap-around country garden with grapevines growing over the recently restored old pergola (with fire pit), and kangaroos at the end of the lane.

Marigold has been renovated with love to retain and enhance all original features, including leaded glass windows, decorative ceilings, original working open fireplace and a large freestanding claw foot bath.

We have carefully integrated modern comforts throughout, including split system heating and cooling, new bathroom with power shower, and new country style kitchen with dishwasher. The well-equipped kitchen has all of your holiday relaxation necessities- a Nespresso machine, extra sharp knives if you want to cook, and plenty of cheeseboard making kit! Fast unlimited NBN wifi is available if you would like to stream Netflix or just surf for the best local attractions. There are board games in the dresser and lots of wine glasses!

Marigold is suitable for up to four guests and is perfect for one or two couples. We have two comfortable queen bedrooms both with queen beds, blackout blinds, electric blankets, high-quality bed linen, extra fluffy mattress toppers, and the most cloud-like duvets we could find. Extra blankets are provided for added cosy factor in winter. And in the warmer weather, sit on the large deck and enjoy dinner while taking in the view, or relax with a cup of coffee on the sunny front veranda in the morning.

Please note that there are no laundry facilities at the property, but there is an excellent laundrette less than two minutes drive away if required.

We recommend that you enjoy the beautiful area by walking due to the central location of the cottage, but off-street parking is available for two cars.

The entire cottage is yours for the duration of your stay. (Self-check-in and check out)

Access is self-check / key safe. We are available via phone and message and know most of the neighbours, who help us to keep an eye on the cottage. Otherwise, the property is all yours and you will not see us during your stay.

Please note that there are external security cameras monitoring the driveway and back access for guest security.

Marigold Cottage is set in a residential lane with very little through traffic. There is a paddock at the end of the street that you will often see kangaroos in at dawn and dusk! Turn out of the house and walk for under a minute to the right. The area has lots of birdlife, and there are many cockatoos and parrots that you will see in the garden.

It is approx 7-8 minutes walk to the town centre (Coles end), and under 15 minutes walk to Lake Daylesford. You can also walk up to the Sunday market and Wombat Hill in around 10 minutes - depending on your uphill energy levels!

Hepburn Springs is approx 10 mins drive from Daylesford if you are visiting for a spa weekend.

There is parking for two cars in the driveway, but we recommend that you walk around the beautiful area to admire the views.

Marigold is an old property and we have intentionally kept the original fittings and doors, so you may notice a few quirks like the odd back to a front original light switch or squeaky floorboard, but we think this is all part of her charm!

Please note that for mid-week stays, it is possible our gardener may pop in to mow the lawns. Please advise in advance if any concerns with this.

Air conditioning and heating to be switched off when not at property, and turned off before checking out.

Property is not suitable for under 2s, and we do not have a travel cot or high chair.

Please note, we are temporarily unable to offer early check-ins or late check-outs due to enhanced cleaning requirements between stays.

The beds were made so beautifully and felt clea...n, fresh and cosy! Soaking in the bath was magic while listening to the rain outside. The kitchen had everything we needed! Perfect walking distance from town. Would highly recommend this stay!

I absolutely love creating memorable holidays for people, and beautiful surroundings to enjoy them in. Homes and making them welcoming and cosy is my passion, and you will often find me at the vintage markets looking for new finds to decorate spaces with! I hope that you love whichever location you choose - Ballarat or Daylesford.
