The Retro Retreat is a self-contained holiday house in the heart of Forrest. It is close to the Southern MTB Trailhead (100 metres) and a short stroll to the Forrest Brewery and General Store making it the perfect location for a weekend getaway.
We have a fully fenced yard and are dog friendly.
The Retro Retreat is a self-contained holiday house in the heart of the quaint little town of Forrest. A real little gem with a very relaxed vibe it is a lovely place to get away and soak up the Otway Ranges with plenty of activities for all ages to enjoy.
The location is a short stroll to the Forrest Brewery and General Store and very close to the Southern MTB Trailhead making it the perfect location for a mountain bikers weekend away.
For those not into biking there are plenty of other options. Bushwalks around Lake Elizabeth to see the platypus, the Barwon Dam, nearby waterfalls or simply relax on the deck or in front of the fire with a good book.
The house is spacious with a definite retro theme to its interior. Comprising of two bedrooms, dining room, lounge room, kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet. A large balcony extends along the back of the house with comfortable lounge seating and a gas BBQ.
The deck overlooks the large backyard and beyond to the hills and dam. Ducks wander up daily and many native birds nest in the trees. Friendly horses graze in the paddock next door. A fire pit and seating complete the yard and make for a great night outdoors when the weather permits.
Please note this fire pit is not available during summer or when fire bans are enforced in this area.
There is so much to do in Forrest. The amazing mountain bike trails suited to all levels of riding. Walking tracks, wildlife and nearby lake Elizabeth and Stephenson's Falls. Great food at Bespoke Harvest and The Forrest Brewery all within a short stroll of the house. The Forrest general Store has great homemade comfort food & makes good coffee with friendly smiles too.
Forrest has become a mecca for mountain biking in the state. World class mountain bike trails surround the town trailing through gorgeous lush rain-forest. The fresh smells of the forest teeming with wildlife like kangaroos, koalas, wombats, wallaby's and echidnas are a treat to the senses. The sounds and sites of all the wonderful birds accompany you on any walk or ride.
There are limited food supplies in Forrest so do come prepared however you can purchase lovely homecooked food from the General Store or have a meal at the Brewery (Thur-Mon)
