Avalon river Retreat is an unforgettable experience - an immersion in the peace and serenity of a pristine oasis. Your cedar-clad cabin is sumptuously styled and fully fitted with luxurious linen.

Avalon is 400 river bound acres, 80 minutes inland of Port Macquarie, tucked into the heart of the Hastings hinterland. Rolling pasture, eucalypt forests, pristine rainforest and 4 kilometres of river. Walk, run, explore, hike. Kayak, swim, fish or just sit quietly at one of the pools and wait for the platypus to pop up. (AWD or 4WD access only - 2WD vehicles are met at the gate)

It's an experience of space and absolute serenity, far from the madding crowd. Catch a bass, pat alpacas, horses, cows, or just bathe in the bliss of its beauty.

Meet our free-ranging herds of happy horses, cattle, alpacas. Feed the chooks and collect the eggs. Roam at will or just nestle into your cabin (and the world's comfiest sofa!) and rest. Revel in the silence, and at night enjoy the serenity of star-studded skies. In winter, snuggle up with a roaring fire.

Your cabin looks out over our main river flat where animals congregate and wander. Your kitchenette is fully stocked with cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils, while all cooking is conducted outside on the covered verandah on BBQ with a gas burner.

This place can truly be called a retreat. We fully relaxed and recharged in just two nights. Sophie, the owner, is a very warm and attentive person. Her farm is a vast space of wild nature: forests, s...hrubs, a river where you can kayak. We were there with our child, and even he, at 4.5 years old, managed the paddle easily. The house was clean, spacious, with many windows, so it was filled with light. We enjoyed the starry sky in the evening, and the hostess treated us to homemade eggs—it was absolutely wonderful. Everything was comfortable, and we wholeheartedly recommend this place to our friends.

The place was serene, exactly what we needed for a peaceful weekend away. Sophie was a wonderful host, just the right amount of presence! Swimming and kayaking in the river was an absolute highlight.
