Grand and historic Campbell House dates back to 1882, this local landmark mansion was built by Mr Andrew Campbell - a Scottish settler from the 1850s who started a timber and ironmongery business in the early 1860s. The origins of this home are romantic and tragic in nature, it is said that Campbell built this mansion to lure his one true love and wife, the daughter of poet Robert Burns. Sadly, she died just two years after coming to Castlemaine from Scotland.

Campbell House has recently been immaculately renovated to its former glory, with finishing and amenities that bring this grand and lavish home into the 21st century.

This spacious and immaculate mansion has eight bedrooms, with king sized beds in 7 and a queen in 1. All 7 of the king beds can be split into singles.

Three bathrooms and multiple cooking and dining areas throughout (including a commercial stove on the ground floor) allow you and your guests to spread out and enjoy all that Castlemaine has to offer.

Guests will have complete access. We will provide a key code to check-in and the entire property is yours to enjoy.

We are available for you if you need anything at all but we won't be in your way. The property is all yours for your stay.

Right in the centre of town, everything Castlemaine has to offer is within walking distance.

All of Castlemaine's great cafes, restaurants, bars and retail are all walking distance.

We have complimentary parking and are quite close to the train station (10 minute walk or 2 minute drive), with all of Castlemaine'e great dining locations and experiences accessible by foot.

We had the most incredible stay here with friends. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with kitchenware, cutlery and glasses that makes food prep and dinners very easy for large groups. The hosts are very friendly and responsive! 10/10, will most certainly book again
