Location
King Parrot Cottages is in the picturesque Pennyroyal Valley near Deans Marsh in the Otway Ranges — about 1.5 hours from Melbourne CBD, 1 hour from Geelong, and 25 minutes from Lorne, Winchelsea, or Colac. It is a perfect base for exploring the Great Ocean Road and the Otway hinterland.

Access
We are a true bush retreat at the end of the valley. Access is via a 4 km winding gravel road with some steep sections, and the surface can be corrugated at times. A 4WD is not required, but you do need to be comfortable driving on gravel.

Transport
You will need your own vehicle as there is no public transport in the area.

Quiet stay and noise policy
We follow EPA Victoria guidelines and care for the peace of our valley. Sound carries in the hills, especially at night, and there are other cottages on site.

Quiet hours after 10.00 pm.

Loud music is not permitted outdoors at any time.

Management reserves the right to control noise at all times to protect neighbours and fellow guests.

Strictly no parties. Unauthorised events will be shut down.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only. They must be on a lead at all times, kept away from wildlife, and must not disturb other guests. If they do, they may be asked to leave.

We absolutely loved our stay at Aquila. The cottage was much more spacious than it looks like in the photos. Clean sheets, fresh towels, lovely teas and coffee and such cute little touches for the dog.... The wildlife near the property was amazing. Beautiful birds, wallabies everywhere. We feel really lucky to have found this place and will absolutely be back one day.

We decided in last minute for this weekend getaway, didn’t expect to get a chance to get a place booked but Nicole was really fast respond to my booking request which was really lucky. She was even of...fered us upgrade to bluegum cottage which was so cozy and stunning. Plenty of space and the fireplace was amazing. The cottage has everything you needed, quite, peaceful and so relaxing to reconnect with the nature. There was some farm animals down the hill of the cottage, and they were so friendly. There was the waterfall track in the property land but unfortunately we couldn’t do it because there was raining all day but we still definitely enjoyed the stay. And definitely will go back there again next time to explore more around. Very highly recommended to stay at king parrot cottage. Thanks Nicole and Ryan so much for having us, and much appreciate for your fantastic service.

The beautiful Erskine Falls tumbles 30 metres into the lush fern gully of the Erskine River. Take in the beauty of the falls from two lookouts and feel the mist from the cascading water as you take in the views. For passionate walkers take the 7.5-kilometre Erskine River Track which leads from the falls to Lorne along the river, passing Straw Falls and Splitter Falls. Erskine Falls are located just nine-kilometre from Lorne.

This bushwalk around Aireys Inlet is a great introduction to the natural attractions that surround the seaside village of Aireys Inlet. The coastal section provides a great contrast to the inland forest and heathland of the Great Otways National Park. The walk is a circuit yet you could easily shorten it to suit your time and fitness levels.

Stevensons Falls is a tranquil rainforest experience just a short drive south of the township in the Otways Forrest Park. The walking track takes you on a beautiful stroll along the end of the Gellibrand River through Forrest and down to the edge of the river where you can start to hear the distant roar of Stevensons Falls. The hiking trail ends at a viewing platform at the base of the falls.
