Such a beautiful, picturesque location with everything you need provided in the cottage. We loved being able to take the kids to see and pat the donkeys and horse on the property. It was just a short drive through some stunning forest to Lorne and the great beach and shops. Loved it!

We had a really great time staying at bluegum cottage, cottage was very well maintained and clean. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here, spent time walking around the area and meeting the far...m animals. Lisa the caretaker is a really friendly and enthusiastic person who was happily telling us her experiences and cute stories about the animals which we really appreciated as well!

Slow Down Take It All In
One of my favourite things about being away from the city is the beautiful landscapes you will see on your drive. The whole area is filled with large trees that surround each winding road. It's such a captivating sight, so take it all in.
Erskine Falls
The beautiful Erskine Falls tumbles 30 metres into the lush fern gully of the Erskine River. Take in the beauty of the falls from two lookouts and feel the mist from the cascading water as you take in the views. For passionate walkers take the 7.5-kilometre Erskine River Track which leads from the falls to Lorne along the river, passing Straw Falls and Splitter Falls. Erskine Falls is located just nine-kilometre from Lorne.
Need Supplies Go To The Store
Great coffee. Great food. All the supplies and goodies we needed to be stocked up for days. Support local, shop at The Store.
Painkalac Creek Estuary Aireys Inlet
Painkalac Creek Estuary is approximately 3.5km in length. It is a beautiful coastal lagoon system, which attracts the spotted green frog and the eastern banjo frog (Pobblebonk). Drift along the estuary and experience soak up the peace and tranquillity. Hire or bring your own canoe, kayak or stand up paddleboard.
Split Point Lookout
A great lookout to grab some fresh ocean air froth over the rock formations as the waves crash over them. A must in the area. Spot a few seals if you are lucky.
Around Aireys Inlet Circuit 20 2 Km
This bushwalk around Aireys Inlet is a great introduction to the natural attractions that surround the seaside village of Aireys Inlet. The coastal section provides a great contrast to the inland forest and heathland of the Great Otways National Park. The walk is a circuit yet you could easily shorten it to suit your time and fitness levels.
