Location
King Parrot Cottages is in the picturesque Pennyroyal Valley near Deans Marsh in the Otway Ranges — about 1.5 hours from Melbourne CBD, 1 hour from Geelong, and 25 minutes from Lorne, Winchelsea, or Colac. It is a perfect base for exploring the Great Ocean Road and the Otway hinterland.

Access
We are a true bush retreat at the end of the valley. Access is via a 4 km winding gravel road with some steep sections, and the surface can be corrugated at times. A 4WD is not required, but you do need to be comfortable driving on gravel.

Transport
You will need your own vehicle as there is no public transport in the area.

Quiet stay and noise policy
We follow EPA Victoria guidelines and care for the peace of our valley. Sound carries in the hills, especially at night, and there are other cottages on site.

Quiet hours after 10.00 pm.

Loud music is not permitted outdoors at any time.

Management reserves the right to control noise at all times to protect neighbours and fellow guests.

Strictly no parties. Unauthorised events will be shut down.

The Windmill Cottage at King Parrot Cottages was the perfect, stress free getaway for our babymoon. Nicole was incredibly warm and informative with every detail on directions, check in and out, and wi...th any concerns we had regarding our furbaby coming up with us. We will absolutely be coming back and can’t thank them enough for the joy we had during our stay.

We loved our stay at King Parrot Cottages. It’s a lovely place to be and everything has been well thought out there. One thing I would say is that the track to get there was quite a lot for our little car but great once we were there.

We had such a wonderful stay in Windmill cottage! Watching kangaroos grazing in the morning & listening to cockatoos, rosellas and kookaburras throughout the day. The deck is a beautiful place to sit and immerse yourself in nature and the walking tracks are beautiful! Thank you!

Erskine Falls

The beautiful Erskine Falls tumbles 30 metres into the lush fern gully of the Erskine River. Take in the beauty of the falls from two lookouts and feel the mist from the cascading water as you take in the views. For passionate walkers take the 7.5-kilometre Erskine River Track which leads from the falls to Lorne along the river, passing Straw Falls and Splitter Falls. Erskine Falls is located just nine-kilometre from Lorne.

This bushwalk around Aireys Inlet is a great introduction to the natural attractions that surround the seaside village of Aireys Inlet. The coastal section provides a great contrast to the inland forest and heathland of the Great Otways National Park. The walk is a circuit yet you could easily shorten it to suit your time and fitness levels.

Stevensons Falls

Stevensons Falls is a tranquil rainforest experience just a short drive south of the township in the Otways Forrest Park. The walking track takes you on a beautiful stroll along the end of the Gellibrand River through Forrest and down to the edge of the river where you can start to hear the distant roar of Stevensons Falls. The hiking trail ends at a viewing platform at the base of the falls.
