Mannagum is one of the cottages at King Parrot Cottages & Event Centre located in the Otway Ranges, nestled on the north-facing hillside of the spectacular Pennyroyal Valley, consisting of five other cottages.

Mannagum is a rambling 4-bedroom residence. Popular with family groups this cottage can accommodate 10 people in comfort. There are 3 king size bedrooms, 1 large bedroom with 4 single beds, spacious living area with fire place is open to a large functional, fully equipped kitchen and 2 bathrooms.

King Parrot Cottages and Event Centre has a communal outdoor salt water pool, games room, small gym, own private bush walking tracks (that includes waterfall) that can be used by all guests onsite. King Parrot Cottages also has a two person infrared sauna. Please note that there is a separate charge for use of the sauna. Bookings and payment of this can be made directly through our website.

Location
King Parrot Cottages is in the picturesque Pennyroyal Valley near Deans Marsh in the Otway Ranges — about 1.5 hours from Melbourne CBD, 1 hour from Geelong, and 25 minutes from Lorne, Winchelsea, or Colac. It is a perfect base for exploring the Great Ocean Road and the Otway hinterland.

Access
We are a true bush retreat at the end of the valley. Access is via a 4 km winding gravel road with some steep sections, and the surface can be corrugated at times. A 4WD is not required, but you do need to be comfortable driving on gravel.

Transport
You will need your own vehicle as there is no public transport in the area.

Quiet stay and noise policy
We follow EPA Victoria guidelines and care for the peace of our valley. Sound carries in the hills, especially at night, and there are other cottages and guests on site.

Quiet hours after 10.00 pm.

Loud music is not permitted outdoors at any time.

Management reserves the right to control noise at all times to protect neighbours and fellow guests.

Strictly no parties. Unauthorised events will be shut down.

Dogs
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only. They must be on a lead at all times, kept away from wildlife, and must not disturb other guests. If they do, they may be asked to leave.

I would recommend staying with Mannagum - King Parrot Cottages and Event Centre to anyone and everyone! We felt welcomed even before we got to the Lodge & Hall because the host was communicative and v...ery kind. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a gorgeous view across paddocks and the Otway forests. The home itself is perfect for large groups - the fireplace makes it super cozy, enough toilets and showers to keep everyone comfortable, super well-stocked kitchen for any meal prep, and space to spread out. The game room was also a hit for our group, as was the pool for a frigid recovery dip after morning runs. The property has heaps of trails, some leading into the national park so you don't have to drive anywhere to get into beautiful nature.
We can also recommend going to The Store in Deans Marsh for a meal or a coffee on your way home!

Excellent accommodation situated in beautiful country. Mannagum housed 10 adults no problem. Some good walking trails and king parrots visiting the house. Sky at night amazing with no light pollution. Altogether a memorable visit.

This bushwalk around Aireys Inlet is a great introduction to the natural attractions that surround the seaside village of Aireys Inlet. The coastal section provides a great contrast to the inland forest and heathland of the Great Otways National Park.

Stevensons Falls

Stevensons Falls is a tranquil rainforest experience just a short drive south of the township of Forrest. The walking track takes you on a beautiful stroll along through Forrest down to the edge of the river where you can start to hear the distant roar of Stevensons Falls.
