Additional Information
The thick, irregular sandstone walls of the bedroom make it a truly special, private space, with queen-sized bed, ceiling fan and modern conveniences like USB power sockets on each side of the bed.
The adjoining bathroom has a generous shower with a wide head, heated floor, heated towel rail and stone basin. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, etc. are all provided.
A few steps lead down from the bedroom/bathroom to the modern timber floored open plan living/dining/kitchen area with light flooding in from high windows and large double glazed bifold doors which open out to the steps and garden.
The living area is comfortably furnished with a thick Persian rug, generous leather sofa, antique chair, new Samsung TV and Yamaha Soundbar. The adjoining dining area with sandstone feature wall is beautifully lit for romantic dinners at the antique table. The dining table also makes a comfortable workspace.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need including an oven, microwave, gas cooktop, dishwasher and coffee pod machine. There is also a washer-dryer in the adjoining laundry area.
The lawn area has a small table and chairs and the steps down to this area are also great for sitting while drinking your coffee, watching the boats on Pittwater and listening to the birds in the trees.
The cottage is all yours to enjoy.
When you arrive, you will enter via the carport and a few steps down to the entrance. The door has a security code lock - we will provide you with the code when your booking is confirmed.
We live in the adjacent house and are available if you need any help or information. Otherwise, we will leave you to enjoy the place in complete privacy.
Avalon Beach is a leafy beachside outpost of Sydney with the ocean on one side and the calm waters of Pittwater on the other. Little Ashlar is on a quiet hillside street with a cafe, restaurant, bottle shop and takeaway only a 2-minute walk down the street. We are surrounded by tall spotted gums with views through the trees to Pittwater, a stone's throw away. The street is a dead-end, leading up the hill and is popular with local walkers.
A short stroll to quiet Paradise Beach and popular Clareville Beach and only a brisk walk or short cycle to the famous Avalon surf beach and village. There are two bicycles for you to use and there is a local bus and parking at the surf beach, but you'll probably be just as happy walking everywhere.
You can leave your car in the driveway or on the street at the front of the property.
Not suitable for wheelchairs due to steps.

We had a lovely weekend at the Heritage Sandstone Cottage.
We visited in Early August and it was a cold weekend so definately a little chilly at night, the gas heater heats the property really well ...but obviously not leaving it on overnight we did feel the cold a little bit. Was a bit rainy so we didn't utilise the nice little backyard, but the room itself was great.
The Bread, homemade marmalade and the Wine were absolutely delicious and a really nice touch.
We utilised the bikes and that was a real highlight. Note if you are not a regular cyclist (as we were not) the area is very hilly. Was hard work but still very enjoyable.
We had great meals in nearby Avalon. Alma in particular was very tasty.
No complaints. Was a really sweet property and a much needed weekend escape.

Absolutely stunning home and Anne-Marie was such a lovely host - I can’t recommend this home enough. The home is decorated so beautifully and the views out of the windows are amazing. Even though it’s... such a convenient location, we felt like we were able to escape the city and enjoy the gateway. Thank you so much Anne-Marie!

Lovely getaway, the Avalon area is very nice in winter and summer. Recommend the curry house nearby and the coffee shop is also lovely. The house had everything we needed and was very clean!

Palm Beach
If you are looking for a walk on the beach or taking a dip, Palm Beach is a great way to spend your day.

Clareville Beach
Clareville Beach is located off Delecta Avenue. This beautiful beach is safe for swimming and runs from Taylors Point in the south to the Pittwater foreshore.

Avalon Beach
Enjoy surfing at Avalon Beach, Sydney-siders' favourite "sea-change" destination. The board riding community here is large and enthusiastic. North Avalon breaks along the north headland and a nearby sandbank and attracts lots of long boarders. The edge of the south cliff is known as Little Avalon; here the swell sucks up hard on a shallow rock shelf to produce fast-barrelling tube rides.
Pizza At Cranzgots Pizza
If you're looking for an easy casual dinner option, Cranzgot's Pizza is BYO and plays some epic music to accompany your woodfired pizza. The area has no shortage of cafes and restaurants to soak up the local atmosphere and enjoy some amazing food.
The Boat House
If you like your coffee the Boat House offers the best brew in town as well as the tastiest almond croissants you've even indulged in. Explore within the Boat House Home store. Soak up the lush greenery and unique architecture along the drive.
