THE LOCAL AREA
Sift through antique and vintage wares at the Amazing Mill Markets, Brick Lane Bazaar, Daylesford Bazaar and The Daylesford Sunday Market.
Some suggestions for dinner:
The Farmers Arms pub (Crn of midland hwy and east st)
Daylesford Hotel
The Mill Markets is quite close to our property. Its a massive second hand and all things collectible market that would take days to see it all. There are great deals to be had there. There is a fabulous cafe on site.
To visit somewhere of local significance. Head out to Mt Franklin of mineral water fame. It is an extinct Volcano with significance to the indigenous people (the Djarra) of the area as a 'woman’s place'. You can drive right into the bowl and then drive up around the side. Without being hippy about it, you feel 'the energy' when you drive in there.
Walk from our place up Tablehill Rd and it joins into a trail network. The walk into town up the creek, by the lake is amazing. Directions: turn right at the driveway heading south. Walk all the way down the street and it turns into a dirt road down the hill. At the bottom of that turn left to follow the trail to the Lake or turn right and over the hwy to go to Tipperary Springs. If you turn left remember to bring empty water bottles with you so as to taste test the mineral water that you pump straight out of the ground. Not a long walk, maybe ½ to an hour depending on how fast you walk....
