THE LOCAL AREA
Sift through antique and vintage wares at the Amazing Mill Markets, Brick Lane Bazaar, Daylesford Bazaar and The Daylesford Sunday Market.

Some suggestions for dinner:
The Farmers Arms pub (Crn of midland hwy and east st)
Daylesford Hotel

The Mill Markets is quite close to our property. Its a massive second hand and all things collectible market that would take days to see it all. There are great deals to be had there. There is a fabulous cafe on site.

Walk from our place up Tablehill Rd and it joins into a trail network. The walk into town up the creek, by the lake is amazing. Directions: turn right at the driveway heading south. Walk all the way down the street and it turns into a dirt road down the hill. At the bottom of that turn left to follow the trail to the Lake or turn right and over the hwy to go to Tipperary Springs. If you turn left remember to bring empty water bottles with you so as to taste test the mineral water that you pump straight out of the ground. Not a long walk, maybe ½ to an hour depending on how fast you walk.

This was such a lovely stay! Immediately stunned upon arrival, the little house is very quiet and secluded, no traffic and very tucked away. Easy to park on the property and as soon as you walk in you...’re struck with plants, whacky art, an overall vibe of peace and ‘oddness’. I loved it. The spa is such an incredible thing to have on the property. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot and the water pressure was great. The fireplace was very easy to get going and nice and toasty. Couldn’t find a single fault with the stay. It’s so close to the mill market and a very quick drive in to the main streets. We’d love to come back here again and enjoy the view. I had some very peaceful cups of tea on the little deck/balcony

We had a beautiful weekend at Saturna. The place was gorgeous and had everything we could want. The garden and surrounds were stunning, and we had the joy of a young kookaburra who joined us a few times when we were sat out on the deck. A very special place, we'll be back.

Search for hidden gems (this could take you hours) at The Amazing Mill Markets. We left with a whole new glassware set but had to leave a very heavy brass plated rams head behind. Next time!

Lake Dayleford

A leisurely and enjoyable loop trail takes you around the lake. Parking is easy to keep your stresses low. For the adventurous types you can rent yourself a little paddle boat and join the ducks at the center of the lake. For photographers, bring your camera as there are lots of little hidden portrait opportunities to be had just off the beaten path.

Lake Daylesford

Picturesque Lake Daylesford, is close by where you can rent a canoe, have a swim or just soak up the sun with a picnic on the grassy banks.

Trentham Falls

Discover the beautiful and lush Trentham Falls, Victoria's highest single-drop waterfall. The falls were formed some five million years ago by molten lava rapidly cooling as it flowed along the old Coliban River valley. Trentham waterfall cascades 32 metres onto the quartz gravel below. Located in the Wombat State Forest, this natural wonder is particularly enchanting in winter when every moss covered rock and fern glistens with water. The Trentham Falls Reserve, located on the Great Dividing Range is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic by the river. There are great facilities, including picnic tables, barbecues and toilets nearby.

Trentham Falls

An easy drive leads you to a parking lot with ample spaces to park (even on a weekend). It's a short walk down some stairs to the waterfall lookout. There are two gates blocking the trail merely as a suggestion. The easy trek down to the waterfall can be made in sandals - once down at the bottom of the falls you can scale some rocks to wind up behind the falls. You'll want to bring a camera!

Bushwalking Horse Riding At Wombat State Forest

The property backs onto the Wombat State Forest which has an abundance of walking trails. Explore the moss-covered Wombat State Forest and spend some time getting back to nature. Located between Woodend and Daylesford the state forest is approximately 70,000 hectares of beautiful bushland. Spot wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, echidnas, koalas and many species of birds. The Wombat State Forest is an outdoors lover’s paradise. Activities include four-wheel-driving, bush walking, picnicking and horse riding.
