PLEASE NOTE June through to September the track is too soft for a car so you need to park in the carpark and walk 40m to the cottage..
Kingfisher cottage earned its name from the local kingfisher who lives around the cottage and will often be there to greet you, He shares his space with Pheasants, Pukeko and a Morepork who you can hear hooting through the night as well as the 2 tame fantail pigeons who may pay a visit if they suspect there is a snack in it for them!
The wider property is also home to golden bell frogs who make their presence known with a nighttime symphony of croaking.
