Are you up for a bit of romance combined with adventure?

The Tui Treehouse is situated at the bottom of our large garden with views out to the Kaimai Ranges.

It's off-grid (no electricity) just 12-volt lights and birdsong.....
This place is perfect for couples wanting a romantic and private space and solo adventurers.

A spiral staircase winds around the tree trunk up to an amazing, totally private space with its own deck.

*new feature* - a fresh water hot tub - must be prebooked 24 hours before your arrival. First in first served basis as it can be booked by other cabins on the property. Message to book $50 cash per fill ($55 credit card) this covers the cost of gas to heat it and cleaning.

Nearby the shared enclosed outdoor hot shower/toilet overlooks the river below and the Kaimai Ranges.

Our dog Pip is very friendly and loves to meet guests and hang out. If you aren't comfortable around dogs this probably isn't the best place to book

Additional Information

Native Tui birds and numerous other native birds will be singing and flying by.
This cosy and romantic treehouse is situated at the bottom of our large garden. Completely off-grid, so just solar lights for a romantic and quiet stay.

Nearby in the garden the shared enclosed outdoor hot shower/toilet overlooks the river below and the Kaimai Ranges

Wake up to bird song all around and when it's raining the calming sound of raindrops on the roof.
Under the treehouse is a hammock for complete relaxation!

*new fresh water hot tub, let us know if you wish to use it so it can be filled and heated before you arrive

We grow organic fruit and vegetables which can be shared with guests when in season.

A shared guest kitchenette/lounge is available for guest use beside the house. A guest BBQ is located nearby in the quaint summer house with seating and a lovely garden view. A new spa pool has been recently added.

The treehouse is up high, with a spiral staircase to navigate and solar lighting, please keep this in mind when packing.

Parking is under a large tree beside our driveway and the treehouse is a short walk away, we ask that you do not drive across the lawn to park close to the treehouse.

It’s preferable if you can arrive before dark as the treehouse is a short walk from the parking spot and can be hard to find in the dark

Myself or my husband Mike are available at most times for any helpful information if you need any more information before booking please send us a message.

We are an easy 2-hour drive from Auckland airport. The beautiful Coromandel is within driving distance. Rotorua is just over an hour drive away and Hobbiton is also close by. We are located exactly halfway between Waihi Beach and Mt Maunganui Beaches.

Best to come by car.

We are situated 10km south of Katikati or 25 mins from Tauranga. It pays to do grocery shopping before you arrive at either Katikati or Bethlehem (Countdown supermarkets)

The treehouse does not have power, a place to unplug and take in nature :-)

- Only the number of guests booked will be permitted to stay
- We are on a septic tank, please no sanitary products down the toilet and be mindful of how much water is used
- Parking is under a large tree beside our driveway and the treehouse is a short walk away, we ask that you do not drive across the lawn to park close to the treehouse.
- BBQ must be left clean, if not a cleaning charge will be applied.
-11 am check out, $10 per 10 minutes will be charged for late check-outs
-We prefer you check in before 9 pm if you arrive later than this you will have to find your way in the dark to your cabin as we may not be around.

Hello, we live in a beautiful spot under the Kaimai Ranges. Our property has established gardens with large trees to shade under, beautiful sunset views and we love to meet people and share our place. Our home orchard is a work in progress, I'm learning very quickly how to grow our own veggies and fruit but still some way off from being self-sufficient!

Swim At The Aongatete Water Holes

The Aongagtete Swimming Holes are a gorgeous local spot to explore. From the car park, it’s an easy 30 minutes walk to the pools through Pūriri and Kohekohe forest. We went for a quick swim and then relaxed in the sun near the pools.

Waihi Beach

If you’re looking for an old school kiwi beach holiday – this is it! Located north from Tauranga, Waihi Beach is the perfect spot for a splash in the waves followed by fish and chips or an ice cream on a hot summers day.

Owharoa Falls

These stunning waterfalls are easily accessed from the main road on the way through the Karangahake gorge. Even in the drizzle, the falls were stunning and the lack of crowds made for a beautiful private spectacle.

Karangahake Gorge

Just under 40 minutes drive from our accommodation, there are several beautiful walks in the Karangahake gorge. We opted to do the popular windows walk which takes you through historic gold mining tunnels and features awesome views into the valley, swing bridges and mining remnants.

Karangahake Gorge

Take in the stunning scenery as you drive through the breathtaking Karangahake Gorge but make sure you also park the car and explore the walkways and old tunnels, to discover the rich history hidden in the deep valleys. A popular bike trail is the Hauraki Rail Trail - one of the most stunning stretches of river in the country.

Sunrise On Mount Maunganui

Boasting one of the best views in the area, the Mount Maunganui summit track is an awesome easy 30min - 1hr hike. We walked up for sunrise to make the most of the view and avoid the crowds.
