Additional Information
We operate a luxury B&B on site so will always be available to help with any questions or support you might need during your stay.
Guests will be able to look forward to quiet surroundings, a large swimming pool, and subtropical gardens. Relax into this idyllic environment, and prepare for the perfect beach holiday. Hahei is famed for its spectacular, pink sandy beach. The nearby town centre includes everything from our local brewery to fine dining to arts, crafts, and galleries. You’ll be able to find tour operators, cafés, travel services and more.
The walk to the iconic Cathedral Cove is currently closed. However you can also visit Cathedral Cove by sea (Cathedral Cove Kayak Tours or Hahei Explorer are highly recommended) giving the Cove, the marine reserve and the spectacular coastline a totally different perspective.
The Cove is situated in the Whanganui A Hei Marine Reserve therefore all marine life within the reserve boundaries is protected providing spectacular swimming and snorkling.
You will also be able to visit the Te Pare Point historic reserve at the southern end of Hahei Beach, a pa site originally occupied by the Ngati Hei people and now maintained as a public reserve. Easily accessed, a 15 minute walk takes you through an ancient pohutukawa grove to the pa sites. The views from the headland are spectacular, stretching for miles up and down the coast.
Hot Water beach is just 5 mins drive away. Check the best times and ick up spades from Phil & Sue and enjoy the unique experience of digging your own natural hot pool! Naturally occurring hot water bubbles up to from 2km below ground where it is heated by hot molten rock.
You can also visit nearby Whitianga which has been continuously occupied for more than a thousand years… since the tribe of the Maori explorer, Kupe settled here, following his visit sometime around 950 AD. Visitors will be able to hop onto the charming little boat at the Ferry Landing, before heading out to sample the sights, sounds, and flavours of Whitianga. Other popular attractions here include the thermal pools at the ‘Lost Spring’, as well as the informative local history.
The cabin is only suitable for a couple sharing the Queen bed, there is limited space for additional bedding. We would consider allowing 1 infant in a cot or small fold-away bed on application.
