We arrived on a very cold and wet day to a cold cabin. It would have been nice if the fire was lit before we arrived as it look a couple of hours to get going. An electric heater would have been great... as a back up heat source. The fire went out during the night and it was extremely cold. Especially for our 9 month old.

The eggs, bread, butter and soap was a lovely touch. Besides the temperature it was very cosy, comfortable and we loved waking up to the sound of birds, sheep and kookaburras!

On the outset, the cabin seemed comfortable and appropriate for the kind of getaway we were hoping for. The cabin was aesthetically pleasing, the bed relatively comfortable and the accommodation clean.... Delicious and simple breakfast provisions were left for us in the kitchen to enjoy over our stay. However, the cabin was freezing - the old school indoor wood-fired oven was not adequate enough to heat the cabin. Please be wary that the 'heating' was not appropriate enough to list as a feature of this Riparide stay. While it was 1 degree outside during our first evening, it didn't feel much warmer at all inside. The hot water was constantly lukewarm and no curtains were hung over the windows to attempt to insulate the cabin. Maybe not the best accommodation to stay in during autumn or winter for future reference. It was a very tranquil and peaceful stay but the cold cabin was difficult to look past. Perhaps a few extra furnishings such as curtains and a space heater would do the trick.
