Additional Information
Claris is a rebuilt 10.4' Clipper Caravan that was saved from demolition on a north island farm 6 years ago.
New Zealanders have a love for the little vintage/retro caravans that we used to use for our summer kiwi holidays in the 50s and 60s. Their simplicity and Fun represents the essence of a quintessential, wholesome break on our beaches and parks enjoyed by New Zealanders for years.
Claris has been fitted out to the highest standard, with all of this in mind, but just a little more luxurious! She is equipped with a bespoke kitchen, an under bench oven, gas stovetop and fridge.
The table drops down to become the roomy double bed and mattress and squabs are 150mm foam upholstered in a Macrosuede fabric in a beautiful delphinium blue shade. To complete the holiday feeling, a JVC surround sound system has also been included. Lighting is provided by the re-use of the original milk glass and chrome light fittings and the addition of chrome halogen spotlights for night reading.
The kitchen is outfitted with three full original Bakelite dinner sets in yellow, green and red. Many visits over the last few years to vintage markets have been the source of the vintage striped drinking glasses.
The cushions were specially made for Claris and they complement the orange and blue chevron-design throws from French Country Collection for wrapping around shoulders on chillier nights. The bed is dressed with Wallace Cotton sheets and pillowcases and original wool blankets featuring handcrafted blanket stitched edges. (Please note, the double bed whilst very wide is not suitable for really Tall people).
To have the opportunity to style Claris and bring her back to her former glory has been a delight and we hope you enjoy spending time enjoying New Zealand with cosy Claris.

The retro caravan is postioned in a private, pretty cottage garden site under a ancient plum tree.
You are also on the gateway to walk to omana regional park by way of a pretty, scenic coastal track.
This track hugs the coastline and follows into mangrove and manuka forests.
There are sections of thick native bush loaded with birdlife and resting park benches strategically postioned for commanding views out to waiheke and rangitoto islands.
If you love to hike and explore hidden pockets of nature,it is all here for you.
If you enjoy deserted shores of islands and shimmering rock pools and lagoons, bring your hiking shoes and swim suit.
Our Neighbourhood is friendly and a mix of families and young professionals. Everyone in the neighbourhood embraces the summer, due to being surrounded by coastal walkways and beaches where we all spend our summer days. Often horses are seen plodding down the street with their owners from the local pony club, and mountain bikers cruise by on their way to the nearby forest tracks.
Within walking distance, there are lovely Cafes such as "Bach'n" and if you have a car we have the "Five Stags", a historic homestead restaurant based in Whitford.
The best access to Beachlands is by Hire car, the local Shuttle services ( Country Roads Airport shuttle or Omana Shuttles), Howick and Eastern buses or the Pine Harbour ferry.
We are happy to assist guests where possible throughout their stay.
Being a 5-minute walk to the beach, we have Kayaks available for guest use. Also within walking distance are Shops, Takeaways, Pharmacies, Cafes, a Clinic, Physio and Hairdresser.
Pine Harbour Marina is on our doorstep, offering guests the chance to catch ferries to nearby islands or even downtown Auckland city.
There is a private local beach just a stones throw from the location.
