Additional Information

You will be booking a peaceful retreat on a working NZ sheep and beef farm. There are beaches nearby with walks and adventure aplenty.

There is a small paddock with a pond just in front of the Cottage where the animals are usually friendly and happy to get cuddles. Please however check with us before going in to make sure.

We have a grass tennis court and croquet.

Dogs need to be supervised and on lead at all times, we are a working farm and our stock must stay safe during your visit.

I am happy to take you to visit some of our animals while you are here, and this may include travelling in on one of our ATV’s while driving up the hill. I can also introduce you to spinning wool, knitting or discuss natural dyeing processes. Just let me know once you arrive and we can make a plan!

We are 20 minutes by car to Castlepoint beach and 30 minutes from Riversdale beach, please top up with fuel before leaving Masterton. We can recommend local providers who offer surf lessons.

There are a few walks nearby but there are also 1000 hectares of farm to explore, this must be organised when you are onsite. This includes some beautiful native bush and incredible views of the Wairarapa from the top of the farm.

You will need transport to get here, and to get around, make sure you have a full tank, there is however a petrol station at The Castlepoint Hotel on the way to Castlepoint if you get low. (This only sells petrol, and cannot be guaranteed due to delivery schedules).

Please note that once you leave Masterton there is patchy mobile phone reception, and no shops except for thew beach stores which have limited supplies. Tinui Village now has access to mobile phone reception, and on farm here you can get mobile reception on top of the hill near the Cottage about a 500metre walk up a steep hill.

We have wifi at the main home and you are welcome to use it to check emails etc. Unfortunately, it is quite slow and will not cope with large downloads. There is a table and chairs just outside the kitchen on the main house where you can sit and use it in peace.

Pets must be house trained and have their own bedding. No pets on furniture, beds and sofas. Pets cannot be left alone on the property and must be supervised at all times. If you wish to leave your pet for few hours we have kennels available, please talk to us. Please ensure your dog is up to date with worming treatments.
No puppies unless arranged in advance.

If two people are staying, and using more than one bedroom, a cleaning fee of $20 will apply. Please let us know in advance.
