A Peaceful Rustic Country Log Cabin
Adventure in Masterton, Wairarapa, NZ
Tucked away in the heart of Wairarapa is a slice of Canada waiting for you. You’ll be able to enjoy relaxation in this log cabin filled with all the essentials overlooking the valley and majestic Tararua Ranges.
The Tree Cottage is surrounded by a quaint rural area and feels like a home away from home, creating nostalgia down memory lane with its array of DVDs and vinyl records.
We awoke to the sound of birds from our loft bed looking out to the snow-topped mountains. Topping our morning off with a hearty breakfast whilst the crackling warmth of the fireplace toasted the cabin. You can easily switch off and relax outdoors. Fancy a glass of wine under a patio, pop up the hammock and get lost in a novel or fire up the barby. There is something for everyone. A personal highlight was going for a stroll in the countryside and enjoying the abundance of farm animals. We even cooked homemade pizzas for dinner whilst listening to U2 on vinyl!
A short 10-mins drive will see you in the cute little town of Masterton. There are so many awesome things to do here. We chose to check out Henley’s Lake, feed some deer at Queen Elizabeth Park and, of course, top it off with a cuppa from the infamous Don Luciano café, known for its Gracias coffee!
