Perfect stay ✨ Such a cozy, welcoming home with the most beautiful space to relax. Our dogs loved the big backyard just as much as we did! Thank you for having us 🤍

I am a Kyneton local that established Flophouse Accommodation in 2013, to give authentic country stays to guests participating in local chairmaking workshops. It has since expanded outside of Kyneton, to include luxury accommodation in neighbouring towns. With an offering of good design, hotel service and access to local produce, we are inspired by our surroundings and happy to plan your journey with you.

Brunching At Home Grown On Piper Pups Included

We stopped by Home Grown on Piper during our time in Kyneton, and it quickly became one of our favourite little finds. Tucked along historic Piper Street, the café has such a warm and inviting feel, the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable settling in. Even better, it’s dog friendly, so we were able to enjoy our visit and get a puppicino for our pups after our brunch.

The food was honestly so good. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavour, and knowing that many of the ingredients are organically grown locally makes it even more special. The menu has something for everyone too, with great vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options that don’t feel like an afterthought. It was the perfect spot to slow down, enjoy a really good meal, and soak in the relaxed Kyneton vibe, definitely one we’d come back to.

Nature Stroll In The Botanic Gardens

On our route back to Melbourne, we stopped by the Kyneton Botanic Gardens for a leisurely stroll along the river with the many birds, crickets and dogs. If you have little ones that need to get their monkey energy out, there's a lovely playground and massive field to run around on. It was hard to come home to the city after such a restful stay in the country.

Scenic Hike To The Monolith

We drove North towards the Black Hill Reserve, 260 acres of rare bushland and incredible rock formations. From the car park, there are three easy tracks that you can follow but we chose the apparently more scenic one Ridge Track. You might come across some steep sections when heading to the top but it is a very easy track and can be completed in about one hour and 30 mins. Stop to spot birds, wallabies, wombats, and some interesting rock formations. Explore a bit off track to find some beautiful views of the area.
