Additional Information

It is off-grid and powered by a 6.6 kw solar system with backup battery storage and generator. With thoughtful power usage the generator should not be needed. Any diesel used to power the generator during your stay will come out of guests bond.

Cooking/kitchen facilities include a bbq, microwave, toaster & kettle, and full-sized refrigerator.

Bedding - 1 x double bed, 1 x bunk beds (2 singles).

Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

The lake is alongside the carriage accommodation it is unfenced as it is a natural body of water.

It was a very nice place to stay, very good sun rises and good sun sets, the old school train carriage is still very original in side even still got the original floor, very very nice place to stay

A wonderful break away! Beautiful accommodation and the outside hot tub was definitely a highlight. Collecting sticks and twigs for the fires was a highlight. Highly recommend the Carriages for your next trip away!

Gunbower National Park

There are walking trails in the surrounding Gunbower State Forest, which is on the Gunbower Island, known for its wetlands and wildlife it is the largest inland island in Australia. When water flows along Little Gunbower Creek, the area is known for its spectacular birdlife. There are many short and long walks in the area. A 14km-walking track near Koondrook will take you past the Eagle Tree and a number of cultural sites.

Horseshoe Lagoon

Horseshoe Lagoon is one of more than 7,000 wetlands along the Murray River. The area includes a ‘horseshoe’ shaped lagoon, a billabong and a small depression that fills during high rivers.
Bring your own canoe and check water levels and access before you go. Fishing in the Murray is good with Cod, Silver Perch and Yellow Belly being the main catches.
