Ashlan is a working farm and you are likely to hear bird, animal and machinery noises, we also have wildlife visiting. The property is not pet-friendly.
Access to the property is via approx 2kms of unsealed road.

This is definitely a wonderful place to relax and recharge. View from the cottage is beautiful and very peaceful without any distractions. Great for a gateway from the hustle bustle. We walked around ...the farm and met two friendly sheep :). Hosts were really kind to put the fire up before our arrival to keep the cottage warm and cozy. We definitely recommend the stay.

We only stayed for one night, but it was a beautiful farmstay. Perfect for a quiet escape as a couple or family with friendly goats, a roaring fireplace, and lovely hosts.

Gooram Falls

The Gooram Falls is a beautiful place to visit for a swim and picnic during summer or to rug up in winter and enjoy the views of the rock pools and the water cascading over the rocks. The Gooram Falls are west of the Strathbogie Tableland on the Euroa-Mansfield Road. Two-wheel drive access to the carpark is fine all year round.

Mt Wombat Lookout

Mt Wombat lookout offers excellent 360 degree views of the area from the plateau on top of Mt Wombat (799 metres). The Waranga Basin and Goulburn Weir at Nagambie are both visible from the lookout.

Swimming At Polly Mcquinn Weir

Picturesque Polly McQuinns is located on the Seven Creeks. It is four kilometres south-east of Strathbogie and comprises a reservoir, weir, bridge and a pleasant area around the water. Once a natural creek and large deep-water pool, the creek has been dammed on the northern side of the road, creating another large waterbody. The dam is a three sided concrete weir (1920-30). The water spills over the concrete weir wall, under the road bridge, over large exposed granite boulders and across a natural spillway into a deep-water pool. It is a popular picnic and swimming spot.

Lake Nillahcootie

Lake Nillahcootie is a popular place for fishing, swimming and water sports. There is a boat ramp and nice lawn area with great picnic facilities.

Violet Town Community Market is held on the Second Saturday each month from 8.30 am - 1.00 pm.
