An absolutely beautiful spot nestled up the back of a great little town. We spent the week eating our way through Bangalow, exploring the coast and hinterland and relaxing in this perfect little slice of the luscious green heaven. Thanks for having us

Living on a farming property so close to the coast really does offer the best of both worlds.
Looking out to paddocks and surrounding hills provides distance and relaxation while listening to the native fauna and watching grazing animals pass.
Hinterland rivers, falls and swimming holes in the surrounding region are nearby to explore and then the coastal environment and beaches offers all manner of beach and water activities.

Sunset And Fire Pit
Enjoy the sunset and relaxing on the veranda (or in the outdoor bath) as the cattle graze in the adjoining paddock.
Sundowners can be enjoyed around the fire pit while experiencing the sounds of nature under a star lit sky.

A Nature Walk Through Bangalow Bails
The Bangalow Bails property is enveloped by lush paddocks, waves of green hills and quintessential country views. So naturally, we went out to explore them. We left our phones inside and took our time to stop and soak in the surroundings; the smell of fresh grass, the sound of seclusion, and that sense of ease that comes only from being in nature. We met a few friendly cows along the way and were joined for the wander by a four-legged tour guide – the host's adventurous pup.

A Taste Of The Local Life At Common People Brewing Co
Introducing Bangalow's newest craft-beer spot, Common People Brewing Co. The brewery is owned and operated by Northern Rivers locals, who are proud to showcase everything the region has on offer with a beautifully designed and super cosy brewery. The staff were warm and welcoming and gave us great recommendations based on our personal beer preferences. They offer a core range of crafty and seasonal beers plus limited edition Special Batch brews, using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients wherever possible. The food menu is just as impressive, so go with an empty stomach!

Harvest
Restaurant, deli and bakery, serving up the best of the hinterland’s organic fruit and produce. What they can’t source locally or forage for, they grow themselves in their kitchen garden, visible from your table.
Secluded Swim At Broken Head
Our friends Oli and Kelsey suggested a couple of off-the-beaten-track beaches just South of Byron for a secluded morning dip.
Surfing At Byron Bay Broken Head
In close proximity to Byron Bay, Broken Head, Lennox and Brunswick there are plenty of options for swimming, surfing, kayaking and other beach water activities. Also nearby are waterfalls, walks and opportunities to enjoy the solitude of nature.
Catching Waves At Wategos Beach
The weather was pristine so we took the board out for a surf at the iconic Wategos Beach. With white-sand beaches and water so clear you can see your toes, Wategos is a must if you're in the Byron Bay region. The waves are generally beginner friendly, so you don't need to be a pro surfer to enjoy them. If surfing isn't your thing, forget the board and go for a dip. You won't regret it.
Hiking To Byron Bay Lighthouse
The Cape Byron Walking Track was high on our Byron Bay bucket list. You can join the track from a number of points, but we decided to start from Wategos Beach after a surf.
The loop is just under four-kilometres long and, while uphill, is suitable for most fitness levels. We were so distracted by the beautiful scenery, which includes rainforest, ocean views and hinterland, that we hardly noticed the incline. The view from the Cape Byron Lighthouse is unrivalled. We even spotted turtles and dolphins swimming below!
