We totally enjoyed our stay at La Mar Cabin. The views were amazing. We enjoyed the walk at the nearby Omaha Beach. Really enjoyed the fish n chips at Leigh Eats and highly recommend the Matakana mark...et kitchen for lovely meals. Our highlights at La Mar Cabin were the classic outdoor shower and the relaxing atmosphere of sitting on the deck eating breakfast in the sun and just being peaceful. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting some timeout but with good views and good facilities nearby. Thanks Mike

We really enjoyed our stay at La Mar cabin, beautiful views, enjoyed the outdoor hot bath. We managed to catch a market both days and went to the Matakana cinema as a rainy day activity. Would definitely come again 😊

I have recently retired from the Auckland corporate world, but have had longstanding connection to the Matakana Coast! Initially we owned a bach at Leigh for 15 years, a previous home in Sandspit & now our lovely home on a hill overlooking Omaha and beyond.
As a keen surfer I love this region for its proximity to the surf, but also for the wide range of local activities including bush walks, bike trails, stunning beaches, vineyards, cool restaurants and local farmers market to name a few.
We are regenerating the native bush on our property and are neighboured by covenant bush, which provides a constantly evolving landscape and a variety of birdlife.
We look forward to hosting Riparide travellers for a relaxing weekend on the coast!
