Additional Information
The treehouse is accessible by a spiral staircase that leads to a fairly steep staircase. It has high decks, and therefore is potentially hazardous. All guests must take all reasonable precautions on the stairs and when out on the decks. Wood decks and stairs can be slippery when wet, so you must use the handrails. Also, for everyone's safety, PLEASE NOTE that all children must be supervised, and must never be permitted to roam freely on the decks, landings or stairs!
We invite you to explore the trails around the front of the property. You can also find longer trails nearby. The back of our property is private.
We look forward to meeting you. We want you to enjoy the private space in and around the treehouse, but we are always available by text if you need anything.
Located about 23 miles from downtown Seattle, and 13 miles from Snoqualmie Falls.
We are not close to public transportation, so guests will need to provide their own transportation. Up to two parking spaces are available for guests. There is no street or off-site parking for other vehicles.
When you arrive, look for the driveway with a GATE. Please do not go to our neighbor's house. Drive up to the gate and msg us let us know you are here and we will meet you at the gate. (Please note: you will not easily see the treehouse or our ground house from the street. When you find the gate with squirrel's on the sign, you will know you are at the right place.)
We provide a refrigerator, toaster and coffee maker, and have coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Guests are welcome to bring additional food and store in our small refrigerator.
We offer a simple toilet and sink with cold water. We do not have running hot water nor a shower.
- NO Parties. This is a house for vacation lodging. We do not allow parties with additional people who are not on the guest list. Although we do allow you to celebrate your special occasion, we want to be clear that this is not a place for you to invite your friends and family members to birthdays or other parties. Thank you for understanding.
- Quiet Hours 10 pm-7 am
- Visitors must be sure to close the driveway gate at all times, so that animals cannot get out.
- No smoking, candles or fire of any kind is allowed in treehouse or on property.
- We ask that you please do not bring additional guests during your stay. Only paying guests who are staying overnight are allowed.
- No commercial photography sessions are permitted.

The Squirrel’s nest is a nature lover’s dream! Sitting on Mark and Michelle’s secluded property, it’s only 30 minutes from the city — but feels like another world. It’s cozy, no matter what the weathe...r brings or the time of year, and complete with modern amenities. Mark and Michelle are wonderful hosts, ready to help with lots of recommendations and very responsive if you have a question. Our stay was a little slice of magic. Cannot recommend this gem in the trees enough!

Adventures Nearby
Here are some details about the adventures nearby. Refer to the map for their location.
Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park
This Mountain Bike Park is located on the Issaquah Plateau, just north of Grand Ridge Park. The park is a nicely wooded 120-acre forest with rolling terrain and well draining soils. There is a 2.5-acre clearing in the middle, surrounding by second growth forest.
Idylwood Park
Enjoy an afternoon at Idylwood Park. Explore the 17-acre park, which is located on the north-western shores of picturesque Lake Sammamish. Featuring a swimming beach, a bathhouse and restrooms. Launch car-top boats from the park’s small ramp, fish from a pier or the beach. Picnic shelters and picnic tables are also available.
Aroma Cafe
With an exciting menu featuring seasonal drinks and craft syrups, this coffee shop is my new favourite spot on the east side. Try the wild orange latte, or branch out with rosemary. This spot feels contemporary-chic but also minimal, and the staff is very friendly. Everything is locally sourced, including the syrups (made from scratch, of course).
Kayaking At Sammamish State Park
You can make online reservations for kayaks, pedal boats and inflatable Stand Up Paddle boards.
Ziplining
Experience the thrill of Ziplining for your first time in nearby Bellevue, WA.
Snoqualmie Falls
Snoqualmie Falls is an impressive 270-foot waterfall surrounded by a two-acre park, with an observation deck, gift shop, and the Salish Lodge. Walk the gorge rim and take in the beautiful views. There is also a steep ½ mile trail to the base of the falls.
