Cabin #72 in Maple Falls is tucked away in a quiet corner of land and surrounded by lush trees that evoke a sign of relief after a long week on the 9-to-5 grind.
Warm, twinkling lights greeted us as... we drove right up to the front door just after nightfall. The directions to the cabin were very easy to follow. On our way in we had stopped to pick up provisions from the cheery gentleman at Crossroads Grocery and Video (conveniently down the road from the cabin), so stepping into the cozy warmth of the cabin truly felt like hitting pause. Some wine, a big, comfy bed, and the pitter-patter of the rain on the roof made for a peaceful night's sleep. Super clean and peaceful.
The next morning we stopped into Joe's Fine Coffee for a quick (and tasty) bite before we took a stroll down to the Maple Creek Loop Trail. The meandering trail weaves through peaceful woods covered in brilliant, spongy moss. We followed a brief detour down to take break and enjoy the sounds of Maple Creek Falls' rolling waves before wrapping up the loop trail and returning to the cabin. We enjoyed some tasty brews and welcoming hospitality when we ventured back out for dinner at North Fork Brewery.
After a couple cloudy, drizzly days, we woke up to clear, crisp blue skies on our last morning. We said our goodbyes to the cabin before taking a quick hop up past Maple Falls to Glacier for coffee, breakfast burritos and a heavenly cinnamon roll on Wake n' Bakery's cheery patio.
This little cabin in Maple Falls was the perfect setting for a quiet escape and sent us back to reality fully recharged.
