This farm stay is nestled on 4-acres of land surrounded by wide-open landscapes, abundant forestry, and native wildlife such as kangaroos to keep you company. What's more, our holiday homes grants you complete private access to the river where you can throw a fishing line, sit by the river, or simply watch the ducks swim by. And even catch a glimpse of bouncing kangaroos on-site.

Wollombi Wanderer by Tiny Away is located in the Hunter Region, NSW. This farm stay is close to Yengo National Park, Cedar Creek swimming holes, and Peterson House – Hunter Valley Winery, among other nearby attractions. It is also just a 30-minute drive from towns such as Cessnock and Pokolbin, NSW.

A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities including a waterless eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we also have a second tiny home, "Big Wollombi Wanderer," located 100 metres away. All our holiday homes are available with 24 hours' notice in advance.

Guests can access the tiny home and its surrounding areas. There are no restrictions as we want the guests to get the full experience of the property close by the beautiful bush walks and the river at the back.

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

NOTICE: Pets are allowed at an additional cost, must be kept on a leash at all times, and owners are required to clean up after them.

Highly recommend The Wollombi Wanderer. It’s only a few minutes from town, but far enough away that it feels really private and remote. Such a peaceful spot and a great place to switch off. We loved our stay so much that we ended up extending for another night. Would definitely stay again!

Pros:
+ The location was perfect for a weekend getaway.
+ The hosts, Shakila and Brock, were amazing! They were responsive to our text messages, and even suggested that we visit a local market (that... we were completely unaware of) during our stay.
+ Many essential items (that we had packed) were readily available at the property - lighters, matches, fire starters, dishwashing liquid, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.
+ Basic cooking supplies were also readily available - kettle, toaster, single electric hot plate, tiny fridge and freezer, pots/pans, plates, cups, cutlery, etc.
+ The fire pit was amazing! The firewood supplied was more than enough for the weekend.
+ Phone reception at the property was surprisingly okay! We had 1-2 bars of 4G throughout the stay, but had no issues making calls, sending text messages, accessing the internet, etc.
+ The hot water was an unexpected bonus! The kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and shower all had almost instant hot water that didn’t go cold!

Cons:
- The composting cassette toilet (as advertised) was a new experience for us. The toilet definitely isn’t for everyone.
- The tiny home has a tiny water tank (as advertised). We showered once during our stay and ran out of water mid shower.
- Some of the dishes needed to be re-washed before use (to be expected when there’s no dishwasher on site).
- A few of the wall hooks inside the tiny home were not secured properly.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We had such a lovely stay, so peaceful and quiet and Wollombi had such cute shops. Was an easy scenic drive into Hunter valley. The hosts were also super helpful and easy to communicate with.

This 4-acre property backs onto a beautiful flowing river at the bottom of the mountain. You will have complete private access to the river where you can throw a fishing line out or simply sit by the river and watch the ducks and geese that live down there.

Stargazing

Stargazing in Wollombi was the kind of quiet we didn’t realise we needed. Just clear skies, cold winter air, a bit of fog in the distance, and no light around for miles. It was simple, peaceful, and a little magical.
