A bright space with all-day sun. Two decks allow chilling with a cuppa or a glass of wine; one has a peak of the sea the other one to the garden. Separate bedroom, bathroom, living area incl. smart TV and a kitchenette. 1 km from the main village Oneroa, 2km from ferry and closest sandy beach, Little Oneroa, with dairy and takeaways is 500m. Electric blanky in winter for snuggling up!

Relax close to the main village Oneroa, vineyards like Mudbrick and Cable Bay, and two stunning sandy beaches in walking distance (500m to Little Oneroa, 1km to Oneroa beach) in your own little place with rural and sea views. Four Huia is at the top of our driveway, at the private end of our section. You'll have appr. 500sqm for yourself incl. own parking and driveway. If you like we can help you to arrange a car/scooter or bike rental (e-bike). We have two pushbikes available but it takes a better person than me to master those rolling Waiheke hills! Also two boogie boards for your use.

Additional Information

We supply fans in summer, heating, and snug electric blankets in winter. It is a real sun trap though - so it has a fabulous natural warmth.

You have your own private space/garden with a BBQ in the back of the cabin and a lovely sunny deck overlooking Oneroa and Oneroa bay.

We live in the house about 20m away from the chalet. You are always welcome to knock at our door otherwise with the free wifi we'll be able to assist via phone, too, if preferred!

Quiet neighbourhood close to restaurants, shops, art galleries, beaches, and some vineyards (Mudbrick, Cable Bay).

We are on the main bus route to and from the ferry (bus stop either Moa Ave/Cr Kiwi Street or St Peter's Church 300m walk) which is about 2km from us and 1km from the Hop on Hop off service going to vineyards every 30m.

We hope you like cats as our concierges Ziggy and Siouxsie are likely to say Hello and snooze on the sunny steps to your cabin.

My youngest son and I were very happy and comfy at Four Huia. On what was a very busy long weekend for Waiheke, Four Huia was a quiet secluded oasis.
Communication with the hosts was easy, reliable an...d congenial throughout.
It was easy to find, with good, easy parking... and then the accommodation was welcoming, comfortable and superclean with cute touches of whimsy.
The attention to detail was amazing, with the obviously well- practiced hosts changing things up for each occasion. We were still finding cute treasures the next day! We were visiting family, so my son and nephew were delighted with the decorated eggs for breakfast, and the chocolate eggs too.
A comfy bed meant a great sleep, good shower, thick fluffy towels etc.
Everything felt easy, relaxing and generous. Lots of thoughtful touches to make your life easy (eg I noticed bug spray and anthisan cream available, although I have to stress that we didn't see one bug or mozzie during our stay).
Inviting front deck that you actually want to sit and relax on.
We were more than happy with our choice to stay at Four Huia, and very much recommend it to others.

Ice Cream At Little Oneroa Beach

We grabbed ice cream and wandered to the many different viewpoints to take a peek at the picturesque Little Oneroa Beach. A great place to spend the day with family & friends!

A Walk Through Oneroa Town

We had a wander through the little town of Oneroa. We stopped for a cocktail at Aperitivo, they have the most wonderful ocean views. The town has so many great restaurants & bars to choose from!

Palm Beach

Palm Beach is my favourite accessible Waiheke Island beach and for a good reason. Beautiful rock enclosed cove, walking distance to a dairy for summer's day ice block, nudie option around the bay to the left for the naturists, and being central on Waiheke, it's never too far to drive to. With beautiful clear blue waters, public toilets, BBQs, and a playground for the kiddies (or playful adults) all available, it really is a beach welcoming to all.

Matiatia Headland Walk

This one to one and a half hour walk takes you along the coastal path that every two years, normally in February or March, hosts the Sculpture of the Gulf exhibition. Either you're lucky to be there at the same time, or very well planned. But even without the sculptures, you are guaranteed to get a beautiful coastal cliff walk that looks down on various coves and back at Matiatia itself. There are ample Pohutukawhas lining your path that loops back to where you started, no matter what direction you head. This is a great one for those who are holidaying but still want to get moving. Suitable for all fitness conditions however not much shade, so come prepared with a hat, sunblock and sunglasses for this one!

Ostend Market

The Ostend Market on Waiheke happens every Saturday, rain or shine, typically prime time is between the hours of 9 am - 12 pm. With a selection of local handmade goods, second-hand items, artesian foods and other knick-knacks, it's a great place to head down to for a bit of Waiheke Island culture and food. It's free to enter and roam and you are guaranteed to spot some of the Islands local characters and pets, all in a fun way to start your weekend off.

Lunch Stop At Heke Brewery

We stopped off at this kitchen & brewery for a bite to eat. Wow, it was delicious! The location, the service and the food & drink are all top-notch! It's super family-friendly with a big bouncing pillow, games, & areas for the children to play.
