Waiheke Island Paradise
Adventure in Surfdale, Waiheke Island, NZ
We boarded the ferry from the Auckland terminal and set voyage, looking back and saying bye to the city life and hello to our island weekend getaway. We arrived at our accommodation and were greeted by our host as well as a local tour guide Richard who showed us all the hotspots to visit. The first thing you notice as you walk through the doors is the scenic view of the ocean and breathtaking scenery of Waiheke Island.
We were tired from our journey so decided to stay in and enjoy our gorgeous accommodation with a glass of wine on the deck. As the sunset, we settle into the lounge and poped on some Netflix to unwind and relax for the big day ahead, out exploring Waiheke.
We woke up, lifted up the blinds and admired the beautiful view. We decided to jump in the pool to wake ourselves up which was super warm and actually made out of an old water tank. After cooking a delicious breakfast we ate it on the deck and checked out the beautiful local bay next to the house which almost felt like a private beach as we were the only ones there. After our second refreshing swim of the day, we get dressed up and then head out for a day at the vineyards, first up was The Batch!
We had a nice lunch and the wine was delicious. We played some Jenga in the back looking out to the city then head over to Stoney Ridge for another drink, which has a beautiful outdoor setting looking out to their vineyard. We woke up on our last morning at the accommodation to enjoy the sunrise and tan on the beds until check out.
