ROSINA – The Beach Shack
‘The Beach Shack’ is a semi off-grid bush retreat hidden away amongst 10 acres of lush native bushland, just a stone’s throw from the world-famous surf breaks of Bells Beach, Winki Pop and Southside.
This secluded, recently renovated shack offers the perfect tiny-home escape for adventurous couples who love to surf, swim, hike, wander, ride, birdwatch — or simply unwind in nature.
Rosina has been thoughtfully designed to deliver a touch of luxury in a relaxed bush setting, combining the feel of an off-grid escape with easy proximity to some of Australia’s best beaches. Enjoy premium bedding, a super-comfy couch, and a peaceful space to switch off and feel a million miles away — while still being close to the action.
The kitchenette includes a two-burner induction cooktop, electric frypan, microwave, fridge, Nespresso machine, and a set of cast-iron cookware perfect for rustic camp-style cooking over the fire pit.
The shack is well insulated and warms quickly with a small split-system heater/air conditioner. It’s semi off-grid, powered primarily by solar (with mains backup), using filtered tank water and a self-composting toilet to help reduce our environmental footprint.
Please note: the eco self-composting toilet looks and functions like a regular toilet, with clear instructions provided for use (including sawdust and natural enzymes, both supplied). When used correctly, there is no odour. Our plumber visits regularly to maintain the system.
The fresh-water tank is filtered and safe for bathing and drinking, though the water may appear brown in colour due to its natural source. The filter is replaced frequently, and we provide a 1L bottle of drinking water per guest — please bring extra if you prefer.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the outdoor fire pit (firewood not supplied). You’re free to collect fallen branches from the property, but we kindly ask that you avoid breaking or damaging any trees to help preserve the natural surroundings.
