The living space has an open concept. The dining, kitchen and living area allow everyone to enjoy different activities while still being in each other's company. The massive window in the living room provides incredible views to the water, sunsets and Canada beyond. Step out the sliding glass door, to a large grassy yard with a propane barbecue, and fire pit.

Walk down the community path beside the house and there are miles of beach to explore.

The yard has plenty of privacy and when you are in the cottage it feels like you are in a world of your own.

We have a comfortable office chair, desk and good internet connectivity if you need to bring your work or school with you to the cottage. Swivel the chair and look out to the view when you need a break. This makes a great 'work from home,' option.

The bath and a half incorporates a tub/shower combination in the main bathroom and a toilet and sink only in the second.

Our casual beach environment encourages you to relax and truly allow yourself to enjoy life's little moments with friends and family. The space is ideal for couples or a family getaway.

Bring your canoe, kayak or rowboat to put in on the beach below the cottage. The path is large enough to carry your boat and provisions to the water. Check the tides and weather, as conditions can change quickly in this area.

Walk, bike or drive around Semiahmoo. There is a significant downhill to our property on a dead-end street. It is short and there is a lovely trail from the Semiahmoo Spit through the center of the peninsula. The road around the peninsula is a nice drive with views of the water, Canada, Birch Bay and islands beyond.

The towns of Birch Bay and Blaine are only a ten to fifteen-minute drive and Bellingham is a short drive south. When the border is open it is only twenty minutes from the Cottage, and a visit to White Rock is worth it!

Semiahmoo Spit is a peninsula, conveniently situated between Blaine and Birch Bay - ten minutes off the I-5. The Blue Heron Cottage has the luxury of being away from the busy-ness of town While still having close access to world-class golf, restaurants and cultural activities.

The Semiahmoo Resort and Spa is a few minutes drive from the cottage. All the luxury you want awaits, along with great food and drinks. From the resort you can take a ride on the M/V Plover during the summer and arrive in Blaine to explore that border town.

Walking on the beach is the best thing! Short drive to local towns. Parking is on the property only.

We suggest picking up groceries on your way to Semiahmoo - once you get here, you won't want to leave! If you prefer to have your groceries, or something special in the house upon your arrival, guests may order concierge service as a separate amenity from this booking by contacting the host after booking or going to Whatcom Concierge on the internet. Other services and amenities are available as well, including during stay housekeeping, and a personal chef service!

The home is not child-proofed - there are no covers on the outlets, or locks on cabinets containing cleaning products, etc. You are responsible for taking precautions to keep your children safe.

The property has easy access to the beach and the Semiahmoo Bay (body of water,) please keep your children within sight distance.

In respect of our neighbors we ask for quiet time between 10 pm and 8 am. Please note that noise travels easily and far around water.

Our good neighbor policy is in the documents we send prior to your arrival, please adhere to them.

Only guests listed on the booking are permitted at the home unless prior approval by Whatcom Concierge (this includes both daytime and nighttime visitors.)
