What a treat to stay on Jim and Adrienne's farm! My daughter and I felt such a warm welcome from our hosts and enjoyed the beautiful gardens and farm animals. There were sheep, goats, ducks, chickens,... and turkeys. The baby sheep were adorable and a new addition arrived while we were there! We felt right at home in the treehouse and enjoyed the serenity and peaceful comfort. The location is perfect for hiking in the Olympics and enjoying Port Angeles. Thank you so much Jim and Adrienne for your warm hospitality and delicious breakfasts! We will definitely be back. ~Eileen Schmalle, Poulsbo WA

We had the best time at Pear Tree Farm! We got the full tour right when we pulled in, including meeting and feeding the latest baby sheep Lambo. We were woken up each morning with a delicious home coo...ked breakfast, and when we would run into Jim and Adrienne, we could always count on a great conversation with lots of laughs. Port Angeles was a gorgeous town with lots of cool spots to eat and shop around—if you have the time, check out the Feiro Marine Life Center down by Hollywood Beach, it’s an experience unlike anything! Overall, Jim and Adrienne made us feel right at home in their cozy treehouse.

We moved to the Olympic Peninsula 20 yrs ago from California where I had a sign and mural business for 20+ years and Jim worked as a pest control officer in Vallejo. I am a Washington native, Jim is from Rodeo, CA.
We raise sheep, goats, ducks, and chickens, grow vegetables, berries, herbs, and fruit.
Our 'zoo' consists of 12 sheep, 1
20 goats, 1 very friendly Corgi, 1 Aussie, 1 cat, 1 parrot, 2 budgies, 4 finches, 1 frog, 2 ducks, 4 turkeys and a lot of chickens. Retired from the sign and mural business, I now spend time in my art studio, doing what I love best, painting wildlife and other things.
I love to travel and have visited England, Scotland, Mexico, Canada, Alaska and Israel. Jim likes to stay home and receive postcards from me.
If there is one thing I love, that's spoiling my guests. If you stay with us you will be treated like dear friends and I will do my best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We want our guests to feel loved and cared for.
We want you to feel a sense of peace, we like to call it 'Shalom in our home' while you are visiting, a total relaxation from the worries and cares of home and work. Relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or cup of tea, watch the sunset to the west. Sleep to the sounds of frogs' chorus at the pond close to you, or owls calling to their mates even coyotes singing from behind our woods! In the morning birdwatch from bed even while you sip your coffee! This is what we hope folks will do when they stay.

Tasting At Harbinger
No PNW trip is complete without a local spirit tasting, and Harbinger Winery was perfectly located on our trip. Kelley, one of the Harbinger staff who has been there for over a decade, made our tasting not only fulfilling but fun as she told us about the evolution of Harbinger's bottling technology and encouraged us as we attempted to swish the wine around in the glass.
The $10 tasting gives you six different wines, and Robert and I were pleasantly shocked to find that we came out of it with new favourites varietals!

Striking Out At Laurel Lanes
Robert and I are avid bowlers, and we wanted to challenge ourselves to try out our skills on new lanes. Laurel Lanes was lively immediately when we entered on our first night, so much so that we had to reserve a lane for the next day, which is something to keep in mind. The 'Bucket of Beer', neon bowling, and new friends we made in the neighbouring lane made this a classic bowling experience, although I was too enamoured by the lights to get more than two strikes.
Getting Energized At The Coffee Box
At first, the Coffee Box looks like any standard coffee shop, with a unique fitness theme, as it's attached to a fitness centre. However, when you follow the wooden steps to the second level, you find the coffee box: a lofted seating area with panoramic windows and a birdseye view down into the shop.
Unwinding At Hook Line
Downtown Port Angeles is a picturesque seaside gathering of shops and restaurants, so when we wandered down to find a spot for dinner there were no shortages.
A PA local recommended Hook & Line to us as a new, fun seafood place, and we were, mind the pun, hooked.
The bar that stretched along the back wall was any cocktail fanatic's dream, and the open kitchen up front gave the place a classy yet modern feel.

Up Close And Personal On The Pier
The Feiro Marine Life Center is a small building right in front of the Hollywood Beach Pier, and for the low price of $6, you can immerse yourself in the sea life that thrives in Port Angeles.
We got to touch sea stars, get 'hugged' by sea urchins, and learn all about the ecosystem of the town around us.

Hollywood Beach Lookout
The walk up the three or four flights of stairs on the massive blue lookout rewards you with a view of Port Angeles, as well as the Strait of Juan de Fuca. If you look down to the pier below, you may see sea stars or moon jellyfish!
