Private Cabin on the Lake

When we first arrived at the Riffle House, we were in awe of the vast landscape before us - a sparkling private lake surrounded by trees. There were plenty of perches to take in the spectacle, both inside and outside the cabin. Upon entering the Riffle House, giant windows and skylights illuminated the scene.

During the day, we’d wake up to fresh coffee on the porch while looking at the lake. When we felt it was time to leave the house, we went into town to grab a bite to eat, window shopped, and hiked around surrounding trails with our kitty. When we wanted to explore near the house, we used the hosts’ kayaks and paddled across the calm lake.

At night, one can’t help but light a fire in the massive fireplace and sip on some wine, all while observing the twinkling lights dance on the water outside.

The Riffle House is truly a gem. While there’s no need to leave the peaceful cabin on the lake, it’s close enough to downtown Port Angeles and plenty of nature excursions to appeal to any type of adventurer.

Everyone knows about the Devil’s Punchbowl at Lake Crescent, but if you want to hike through less-trodden trails and through forests to see equally teal water, definitely visit the Striped Peak Trailhead.
