Rainshadow Retreat

I think it is safe to say that SeaTsu is an experience beyond being a vacation rental. The SeaTsu Bathing Sanctuary was more than we could have expected driving over the sound, and through some woods. We were welcomed with comfort and warmth throughout the entire weekend. This is an experience that you could stay at the entire weekend, or pair with beach side hikes and bird watching!

Waking up to a sauna experience was the best part! We woke up to the converted horse trailer sauna heated up and ready to go. Starting with a cleansing bath in the outdoor tub, and shower that was followed by moments in the shower paired with a cold plunge! The experience puts your mind, heart and soul at ease, and takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. After our sauna relaxation experience, a visit into town for seafood and amazing art and coffee made the weekend complete.

Lusa informed me the term SeaTsu is a PNW rendition on the Finnish term "Sisu" meaning willpower, determination, strength, which matches perfectly with the finish style sauna experience and all other features of the SeaTsu Bathing Sanctuary.

Highly recommend bringing a book, a ukulele and a close friend to share this experience with. With cultural and spiritual awareness, Lusa and Kurt have created an incredible off the grid experience that everyone should experience.

We highly recommend doing your sauna experience in the morning with the cold and fog of the PNW mornings surrounding you. It makes the whole sauna expense more special. Lusa and Kurt are incredible at communication and offer a walk through of the best practices of the sauna, and setting you up for your sauna so you don't have to do any work. Start with a warm bath in the outdoor tub filled with bath salts, and enjoying a glass of seltzer or tea, followed by multiple rounds of sauna. Finally we enjoyed our final rounds as a wet sauna utilizing some essential oils for added relaxation.

We decided to visit Dungeness at sunset, although an overcast day the cloudy sky still made for a beautiful blue evening. Great for an evening hike, that isn't too strenuous. Dungeness Spit is a beautiful hike or beach picnic area. There are lots of areas to sit on drive wood and enjoy the fresh ocean air, or a 6 mile hike to the lighthouse. Dungeness Spit is beautiful at sunset and gorgeous for bird watching.

Searching for seafood in Sequim is not hard. It's everywhere. But Salty girls came highly recommended by multiple folks we knew from the area. We decided to go for lunch and load up on tasting many features from the menu. From oyster shooters, to oysters Rockefeller, and crab melts, the menu was diverse and delicious. As a bonus, we highly recommend the lavender lemonade to pair.

Panorama Vista was recommended by our hosts and it did not disappoint. If long walks on the beach are your thing, then Panorama is the right park for you. It was a calm easy stroll with beautiful cliffside views. Turn over a few rocks and you might see some beautiful wildlife, and huge barnacles.

Sometimes the best work place is away from the office, away from home and in a coffee shop. With our stay being off the grid Hurricane coffee became a great temporary office. With great treats and clever coffee drinks it became a comfortable place to hang out for a few hours when we needed to step back to reality.
