The Misty Dunes Woodshed

Named after the iconic Peterborough coastal sand dunes that are located 2 minutes away on the Great Ocean Road, this upcycled woodshed came to be when we, Bronte and Hayley purchased the 2-acre property at the start of 2020. Handmade from mostly salvaged and recycled products, what once was an old corrugated woodshed, is now an eye-catching and unique space, made with the sole purpose to relax, escape and appreciate the perfect blend of bush and sea.

Located in a bush setting 5km from the sleepy seaside town of Peterborough, the Woodshed is an ideal place for a couple’s escape, while also doubling as a great option for families or a group of friends that want to enjoy their own space.

A feature of the space is the king-sized bed that goes into an open-living area, including top-end bedding, warm mood lighting and privacy from the rest of the house with blackout curtains.
It also includes a bedroom with a double bed. For those who want to stay in and cook, the kitchen includes an oven, cooktop, toaster, kettle and bar fridge. Coffee, tea and sugar is also provided.

Outside there is a firepit underneath the gumtrees for keeping warm in the surrounding native bush setting. There is an outdoor setting and feature privacy wall that is placed between our home and the woodshed to ensure that everyone stays extra relaxed.


The Woodshed is located at the front of the Misty Dunes property with signage pointing you in the right direction. You will share the property with Bronte and Hayley, who live in the main house (behind the privacy wall), along with our chickens and dog – don’t worry the animals live at the opposite end.

Feel free to wonder around the native bush garden and enjoy the lake view, especially at sunset for a special moment.

We want this space to be as calm and relaxing as possible, allowing you to unplug and escape the working day-to-day life. A concerted effort to leave out a TV and instead, enjoy nature, music and the company of people has been made. In saying that, Wi-Fi is available upon request for those who may want to watch a movie in bed, or send that one important email - bare in mind that the wifi is very limited so connection isn’t fantastic.


We have neighbours both sides of the property.

The whole property is run on rain water, so we do ask to be mindful when it comes to water usage (especially in Summer).

This is our home and we have a zero tolerance for littering, extreme noise and damage to the property in any way. We love where we live and we want you to love it too, so enjoy it and be respectful.

If there is anything taken from the woodshed i.e. shampoo, kitchen equipment, towels, there will be an additional charge of $50 per item.


Local info:

Peterborough is our local town, 5 minutes away and includes lots of nice beaches to swim at, a grocer with a bottle shop, pub and petrol station.

Timboon is located 10 minutes away and is home to a distillery, ice-creamery, strawberry farm, cheesery and plenty of other brilliant places to eat, drink and shop.

Port Campbell is also located 10 minutes away with a picturesque bay, surf shop and restaurants.

The 12 Apostles are a 20-minute drive down the Great Ocean Road.
