Additional Information

Feel like a kid again when you climb the stairs to our hidden retreat, built right into the tree line! Enjoy morning coffee while sitting outside listening to your neighbors sing (the birds)!

Our cabin is a place of warmth and relaxation. It doesn’t get much more private than this! Your views out every window are trees and ferns :) Our home is minutes (walking!) to the Stimpson Family Preserve trailhead and an easy 7-10 min drive to the beaches of Lake Whatcom. There’s also a fantastic frisbee golf course about a 5-minute drive away! Or head into town, a scenic 15 min drive to the main shopping area.

Wake up and relax from one of the three balconies while taking in all the surrounding nature. Or dine in the evening from the comfortable outdoor couch and serving table! This spot is our go-to location to eat as a family and reconnect while chatting about everybody’s “high and low” of our day in the PNW :)

We are in the tree line! Stairs are necessary to take, from the lower parking area, to get to the home- or a higher clearance vehicle for the driveway.

Guests will have full access to the home- bedrooms, bathrooms, full-size washer and dryer, and outdoor sitting areas.

Guests are able to access the property by parking on the street and walk up, or by using the driveway. Higher clearance vehicles recommended. We live on a hill and it’s easier to navigate with 4w/AWD vehicles.

We do not live on property but can be reached quickly and easily through Riparide.

Our cabin is very close to Lookout Mountain Trailhead, Stimpson family nature preserve trailhead, Lake Louise, Lake Whatcom, Whatcom Falls Park, Bloedel Donovan Park, and so much more.

You will definitely need a car to get around. There is a public bus line at the entrance to the neighborhood.

The roads leading through Sudden Valley can be slippery during winter months with snow. Please plan accordingly with your vehicle- AWD/4WD is recommended if snow is in the forecast during your stay.

Sudden Valley (like much of Bellingham) can experience power outages during the winter if there is inclement weather. We always recommend our guests to add peanut butter and bread to their shopping lists, to have on hand in the event this happens!

*Our home is in a valley- noise travels! Please help us keep the peace by following quiet hours by 10 pm.

*NO animals. Our family uses this home and has extreme allergies. Please no animals.

*NO drugs.

*No additional guests past the approved guest count.

*NO smoking or vaping on property

*Please cover patio furniture every night and before check-out.

*Early check-in and late check-outs must be approved prior to arriving on the property- a $100 charge applies if not approved prior to arrival or before departure.

Wife, mom of three, and lover of photography and the great outdoors! Having been born and raised in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ I fell in line with the PNW as an adult. I find peace and refuge in this beautiful state. Now, I am a pro at local hot spots and "to do" items!
