Dan's Place was such a relaxing getaway this last weekend! I had the whole place to myself which was fun and refreshing. The cabin basically has everything you need to make you right at home for a cou...ple days. Being so close to the Mt. Rainier park entrance was so convenient. I was able to get in, explore and then come back for a nap and some food, then go back up for another round of adventure! A big thank you to Patti for hosting me and for giving me all the necessary resources for a comfortable stay. If you are looking to spend a few days exploring the area and the national park then a stay at Dan's Place is the way to go!

My husband and I are transplants from Hawaii. We are always asked "Why would you leave such a beautiful place?" If you look around to all the beauty of Mt Rainier and the surrounding area you would know the answer. The changing of the seasons, cold weather and snow. That is new and different to us.
We own a small farm in Tacoma, Washington near Puyallup. We have cows, chickens, goats, ducks, geese, a horse, dogs and cats. When we can get away we like to go back home to Hawaii to visit family and friends. Other than that we like to go to our cabin in Ashford for the day. I love to quilt. As time goes on you will see them in the cabin.
We are all about the aloha spirit and hospitality. What better feeling than to make someone feel welcome.

Copper Creek Inn Famous Pie
Copper Creek Inn is located on the side of the road on your way to and from the national park. I stopped in to try their famous homemade blackberry pie, which was so delicious to the last bite. The restaurant has a variety of meals to choose from, but the pie is definitely a must!
Longmire Rampart Ridge Loop
Rampart Ridge is a 5-mile loop trail that is accessed at Longmire, just before the gate that leads you up to Paradise. The trail is moderately steep and has several switchbacks that lead you to a few view points. During the winter you may encounter snow towards the top, so it may be a good idea to bring some snow tracks or snow shoes. Be on the lookout for the gray jays that fly by to greet you – they can be super curious!
Narada Falls
As you drive up Paradise Road, you'll see a lot to the side with a sign directing you to Narada Falls. The hike is only about five minutes, but you get a really neat view of the falls from the ridge. Be sure to add this quick, easy stop on your way down from the mountain!
Dine At Mill Haus Cider Co
One of the coolest restaurants I have ever been to. The atmosphere, the food and the cider was all amazing. Don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit for a table, but don't let that deter you because it is 100% worth the wait.
Hiking At Mount Rainer National Park
Explore over 260 miles of trails at Mount Rainier National Park. The trails lead you through the high subalpine meadows on the edge of Mount Rainier and old-growth forest of the river valleys. Experience the forests, lakes, and streams and beautiful views of fields of wildflowers and glaciers.
Northwest Trek Animal Park And Zip Line
Meet native Northwest animals on walking paths or premium tours. Play on our nature-inspired Kids Trek playground. Spend the day. Walk in the forest. Reconnect with wildlife.
