Additional Information

Guest access
The property is fully fenced. Feel free to explore. We have a bbq area behind the house with a gazebo. If you wish to use it please let me know and I’ll be sure to have it ready for you.

It’s a great place to hang out during the rain to visit and still interact with the animals. There’s also a large grill to cook breakfast or dinner on.

There will also be a bbq in the private bnb space. There’s a walking trail around the perimeter of the main house. Feel free to explore.

Other things to note
Our farm is pretty well “mud proof “. We have most of the areas that would typically be muddy covered in sand but mud or rain boots are good just in case. Bring things to cook over an open campfire if you wish. We have plenty of firewood onsite so no need to bring your own.

Nothing in the toilet other than toilet paper provided. This is an extremely important rule and should be explained to children.

We absolutely recommend the Flyin Pig Ranch! Aron and Christina were incredibly welcoming and gave us a tour of the beautifully kept mini farm. Our kids loved feeding the animals with the food provide...d by our hosts and we became good friends with Pickles, the goat, and Joe, the turkey. The mini farm was the perfect base camp for our adventures at Daybreak State Park, Battle Ground Lake, and Moulton Falls. If you love animals and the great outdoors, we recommend booking a stay at the Flyin Pig Ranch!

Meeting Furry Friends At Flyin Pig Ranch

The animals at the Flyin' Pig Ranch are some of the sweetest farm animals we've ever met! The hosts do a wonderful job informing their guests about the animals and their personalities (they even have a book with each animal's picture and profile in the camper!) The camper fridge and pantry were stocked with a few of the animals' favorite snacks- popcorn, apples, and carrots.

Our young children got a lot of laughs out of feeding the animals and we made fast friends with Joe, the turkey, and Pickles, the goat. When you stay at the ranch, you instantly have a whole farm full of new best friends!

Skipping Rocks At Daybreak Regional Park

Located just across the river from the Flyin' Pig Ranch is Daybreak Regional Park. This rocky beach is the perfect jumping-off point for kayaking or paddling down the river. We spent a couple of hours walking along the beach looking for the perfect rock to skip across the water.

In the warmer months, this would be the perfect place to sunbathe and soak up the summer sun. There is a small playground not far from the riverfront that is ideal for young kids and a number of picnic tables if you decide to eat lunch in the park. The river is a short walk from the parking lot, which is right off the main road.

Coffee At Hidden River Roasters

Hidden River Roasters is a gem of a coffee shop tucked away in a former church building. The gothic, cathedral-style windows add to the charm of this establishment. For a quick bite, we recommend the classic latte and everything bagel with avocado spread. This shop is situated along the main street, close to some quaint boutiques and shops that are full of country charm. Whether you're looking for a place to sit and sip your morning coffee or grab something quickly before a day of adventure, we suggest visiting the baristas at Hidden River Roasters!

Hiking At Battle Ground Lake State Park

If you love hiking, fishing, swimming, or kayaking, then we recommend spending a few hours at Battle Ground Lake State Park! The serene lake is a stunning backdrop for a picnic and the trail around the lake is perfect for anyone who is looking for a leisurely hike.

Our young children enjoyed the playground and we noted the kayaks and paddleboards available for rent at the camp store by the boat launch. The lake is a short walk down a hill from the parking lot. Parking is free with a Washington State Parks Pass.

Family Friendly Hike At Moulton Falls

Moulton Falls is a 20-minute drive from the town of Battle Ground. The trail is well maintained and leads to stunning views of a wooden bridge and a few waterfalls. Locals have told us this area is a fun swimming hole in the summer (the river runs a little too fast for swimming in the springtime).

The parking area is small, but right off the main road, which makes this an easy trail to navigate. Our young kids didn't tire out on the half-mile walk to the bridge's viewpoint. Parking is free but limited, so it's a good idea to come earlier in the day on the weekend!

Lake Sacajawea Japanese Gardens And Park

Lake Sacajawea is the pride and joy of Longview but the crown jewel of this community area is the Japanese Gardens. The Japanese Garden was the idea and design of former Longview Parks Superintendent Al George. After being inspired by the gardens he saw when he was stationed in Japan while in the Navy, George wanted to recreate the beauty back home. Wanting the garden to feel authentic, he studied Japanese garden design extensively and consulted extensively with Japanese gardeners. There are also kayak rentals at Lake Sacajawea.
