What an awesome place! This property is stunning. The river running through is extremely calming. The interior design is thoughtful and the color palettes are really lovely. The secret bookshelf door ...is SO COOL! I stayed here with my sister and we had such a wonderful time and felt right at home. Sitting on the porch in the morning drinking coffee with the sun shining through the trees onto the porch was the perfect way to start the day. I truly can't wait to stay here again!

Abernathy Creek Park
Created by the confluence of two creeks as they flow towards the mighty Columbia River, this area has been closed off to vehicle traffic but remains a lovely and easy area to hike, explore, wade and swim! To access, park your vehicle in the gravel lot on Hiway 4 and from there you can access the park by walking to and through the gated access area.
Lake Sacajawea Japanese Gardens And Park
Lake Sacajawea is the pride and joy of Longview but the crown jewel of this community area is the Japanese Gardens. The Japanese Garden was the idea and design of former Longview Parks Superintendent Al George. After being inspired by the gardens he saw when he was stationed in Japan while in the Navy, George wanted to recreate the beauty back home. Wanting the garden to feel authentic, he studied Japanese garden design extensively and consulted extensively with Japanese gardeners. There are also kayak rentals at Lake Sacajawea.
Buckets Of Margaritas
We found a great little neighbourhood Mexican joint called Maria's Place. A very no-frills, straightforward environment that takes its margaritas very seriously by serving them to you in a bucket glass. This brought us great joy and it was the perfect end to our adventurous day.
Goonies Never Say Die
This is one for all the nerds who love the classic 80s amazingness that is The Goonies! We took a drive down to Cannon Beach, Oregon, where a lot of the beach scenes were filmed, and ran along the wide expanse of the beach like little kids.
In the distance is Haystack Rock – a glorious, gargantuan rock formation rocketing out of the Pacific. This trip had to include a stop by the actual Goonies House where Chunk does the classic "Truffle Shuffle" on the front porch. We most definitely ignited our childish enthusiasm!

Pelican Brewing is located in the adorable downtown of Cannon Beach. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a true beach-town vibe.
