Such a gorgeous cottage to escape to amongst the Otways! We took our two dogs and they loved the enclosed yard and snuggling up in front of the fire. A short drive to Apollo Bay and Lavers Hill for fo...od and necessities. We felt very relaxed all weekend. It was a treat bathing in the spa and feeding the local birds.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lake Cottage. It’s such a peaceful spot surrounded by nature, and the large windows make it easy to take in the views, even when the weather isn’t ideal. The cottage wa...s clean, comfortable, and really well set up — from the fully equipped kitchen to the cosy wood-burning fireplace and heated blankets. The outdoor spa was a highlight, especially at sunset with the birds all around. It’s also in a great location, close enough to explore the Great Ocean Road, Timboon, and the nearby trails, but still quiet and private. Our dog loved the fenced yard too. Perfect for a relaxing weekend away.

We LOVED our stay at the Lake Cottage. The cottage was so cute and we loved that the fire was all set up ready for us when we arrived. The outdoor spa bath was such a treat as well. A great location i...f you’re wanting to check out the Twelve Apostles and other amazing sights around the area. We (dogs included) thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Spa At The Cottage
Such a peaceful way to spend sunset - soaking in the spa surrounded by nature. We made a cheese platter to enjoy outside, but quickly learned to tuck it away when the birds came out for their dinner! They’ll come right up to you, and the cottage even provides birdseed so you can feed them from the deck. Once we moved their food to the other side, we could relax and take in the view. It’s such a treat to have this right at the cottage - the perfect way to unwind at the end of the day.

Castle Cove Lookout
Just a two-minute drive from the Lake Cottage, Castle Cove Lookout offers sweeping views of the coastline and cliffs below. We were lucky that the sun came out Sunday morning, giving us the perfect moment to stop and take in the view before heading home. It’s an easy, quick stop, but one that’s absolutely worth it for the stunning ocean outlook.

Check Out Johanna Beach
A rugged and fairly untouched piece of coastline, Johanna Beach is a spectacular sight. A swell magnet and the ocean rough and unruly on our visit, we opted for a relaxing stroll and play amongst the rock pools.

By car turn right out of the gate and take a short drive up the Great Ocean Road. There is a lookout on your left which is positioned perfectly for sunset. If you’re up for an adventure you could also take the kayaks down to where the Aire River flows into the ocean.
Great Ocean Road
There are endless stops along the Great Ocean Road, and it’s just as stunning every time. We’ve explored this area a few times before, so on this trip we revisited some of our favourite lookout spots along the way. You really can’t stay in this area without checking it out — it’s the perfect base, whether you’re seeing the Great Ocean Road for the first time or returning to some of the well-known landmarks you love.
Lunch In Port Campbell
We packed our own lunch and found the perfect lookout spot in Port Campbell to enjoy it. The views over the cliffs and ocean were incredible, and it made for such a nice break before heading back. There are plenty of picnic spots around town, so it’s easy to find a quiet place to take in the view. If you're looking for some restaurants - there's plenty of option in this town as well.
