Oakshire Guest House is a beautiful traditional 3400 sq ft, 4 1/2 bdrm home. Situated in the gated Oakshire Estate 25 minutes from shopping & the Union Gap exit off I-82.

Only 15 minutes to the SOZO multi-sports complex and 30 minutes from downtown Yakima. It is perfect for a quiet family getaway, hiking or strolling the 100-acre property or biking the quiet country roads. Come to Yakima to enjoy our winerys, micro-breweries and sunshine!

Additional Information

OE Guest House is in a very secluded, quiet, gated estate. It is surrounded by old growth oak trees and lush landscape.

It looks out on waving fields of hay with the sun rising just over the Ahtanum ridge. Plenty of parking and room to stretch, wonder, dream and rest. The house is beautifully appointed with lots of space and even a huge laundry/office room. There is a king bedroom on the ground floor with an attached full bathroom.

Guest access
Guests have access to the full house, garage, jacuzzi and nice back yard living space with BBQ and several acre yard. Guests are also welcome to stroll or ride bikes around the 100 acre estate. The main estate is a wedding venue on a limited number of weekends in the summer - so please respect our customers privacy around the main estate on those weekends! There is also a 3000' airfield on the property that guests are welcome to use to fly into the property on their private plane or helicopter.

Other things to note
The internet is via Verizon Hot Spot so can be slow at times, if you are a Verizon user you will have great cell service, other cell service is pretty limited.

Property is gated.
We may be able to accommodate horses if you are traveling with them, please contact for arrangements.

There is also an airfield on the property for private planes - please contact for more info.

Property is used for a handful of weddings each summer so some weekends my have more activity on the driveways.

NO PARTIES! With advance approval - we may allow SMALL family gatherings of up to 16 people for a 3-5 hour time frame is permissable with others not listed as guests of house. Event/party must end by 9pm.

Only 1 dog allowed - for more pets please contact host. There is NOT a fenced yard. Dog must stay in hand at all times.

No pets on furniture please!

No Shoes in House Please!

No guests overnight who are not registered.

Staying at the Oakshire Guest House was such a retreat for our family. The views were amazing, the accommodations were so relaxing and serene, and Cate (the host) was amazing! The kitchen was easy to ...navigate and well stocked. We all really enjoyed being in nature. The girls enjoyed finding bugs, fish and frogs and being in the hot tub. My favorite things were hearing the frogs at night and drinking my coffee on the back porch. Such a refreshing, calming, rejuvenating trip!

Drinks Outside Of Town

Hop Capital has a vast selection of drinks. We ordered a sour, a Hazey IPA along and some delicious appetizers! The girls enjoyed playing the tabletop ringtoss game and bags. We all left with a smile on our face as well as happy stomachs.

Best Taco Truck

We stumbled upon El Taco Perron while driving around. The tacos were SO GOOD and the service was great! We ordered the Carne Asada Tacos. They were filled perfectly and the salsas were spicy and delicious.

Follow the peaceful Tieton River via an easy nature trail with scenic views of towering trees, basalt cliffs, and the surrounding steep cascade foothills. The metal suspension bridge is an adventure in itself! There are two access points to the trail along US-12, with a trail connecting them on the south side of the river via bridges.

We really enjoyed this hike! We found a few cacti and the views of Yakima are beautiful!

Explore the beautiful Yakima River Canyon's Umtanum Recreation Area. Home to a huge wooden/metal suspension bridge spanning a wild river and the bridge leads to many trails. Enjoy the area with a long day hike to Umtanum Falls or enjoy a shorter hill walk for an awesome view of the river bends far below.
