Additional Information

Betsy is a vintage RV with it's own private entrance and cedar loo under the bed. We value your privacy, so interaction with other guests or hosts who may be on site is certainly welcome, but not required or expected during your stay.

Human neighbors are friendly but enjoy the peaceful privacy that country life ensures. The numerous animal neighbors are furry, or feathered, and some are approachable; but most are very shy. (Deer, elk, raccoon, bobcat, quail, squirrels, skunk, etc...)

Unless you have an event contract with us which includes the entire complex, all outdoor areas are SHARED with other guests. These include, but are not limited to the grape arbor sitting area, fire pit/s, covered porch, picnic tables, yoga decks, and creek front beach area.

Betsy the Vintage Camper was a gorgeous place to relax and unplug for the weekend! A stunning drive next to the Columbia River and down a winding forest road leads you to Michele's property, and Longview provides beautiful parks and fun local spots to have a memorable, small town experience!

Here are some details about the adventures nearby. Refer to the map for their location.

Abernathy Creek Confluence

Where Abernathy Creek meets the mighty Columbia River is a small hiking and swimming area, open to the public 24/7. Park at the gravel lot on Hiway 4 and walk to the gated entrance.

Abernathy Creek Park

Created by the confluence of two creeks as they flow towards the mighty Columbia River, this area has been closed off to vehicle traffic but remains a lovely and easy area to hike, explore, wade and swim! To access, park your vehicle in the gravel lot on Hiway 4 and from there you can access the park by walking to and through the gated access area.

Lake Sacajawea Japanese Gardens And Park

Lake Sacajawea is the pride and joy of Longview but the crown jewel of this community area is the Japanese Gardens. The Japanese Garden was the idea and design of former Longview Parks Superintendent Al George. After being inspired by the gardens he saw when he was stationed in Japan while in the Navy, George wanted to recreate the beauty back home. Wanting the garden to feel authentic, he studied Japanese garden design extensively and consulted extensively with Japanese gardeners. There are also kayak rentals at Lake Sacajawea.

Meandering Along Lake Sacajawea

Central Longview is home to Lake Sacajawea Park, a vibrant and expansive public park with a lake as its centrepiece. Some highlights of the park are the Japanese Gardens and Lion's Club Island. You can take a light jog, play on the play structures, or set up a chair by the water and see what hooks your line!

Buckets Of Margaritas

We found a great little neighbourhood Mexican joint called Maria's Place. A very no-frills, straightforward environment that takes its margaritas very seriously by serving them to you in a bucket glass. This brought us great joy and it was the perfect end to our adventurous day.
