What a great place to stay! We had a rainy July week and it was absolutely cozy in the A-frame. When there was a break in the rain we re able to see some amazing views and hikes because this place is ...in close proximity to some of the coolest hikes around. Packwood is also the cutest mountain town. Can't wait to come back!

Breakfast Of Champions

This hidden gem is only open from 8am–3pm and has the best breakfast around! Opt-in for the hot sauce made with habaneros and carrots – you won't regret it. Fuel up before a hike or get a burrito to go on your way out of town.

The Mountain Goat

This was the perfect spot for a coffee to get us ready for our day's adventure. Locally brewed coffee and freshly baked goodies gave us the energy we needed to take on the day. Small town feel, but big flavours and tastes.

Spending Time In A Mountain Town

Grab coffee like a local at the Mountain Goat; get maps for Mt Rainier National Park or Gifford Pinchot National Forests from guides at the visitor centre; enjoy vintage finds and one-of-a-kind gifts at the new Mercantile shop in town! You can spend hours in this little town despite it only being one street long.

Accessible Trail To See Ancient Basalt Formations

This ADA-accessible trail is a paved path that takes you through the history of geology in the area. I know – totally sounds nerdy, but the shape of the rock formations is pretty mysterious. Waterfalls line the mountainside, and if you go in the summer you are sure to see tons of wildflowers!
