Cozy in Camas

When we arrived at the Lily Pad in Camas, we were greeted by the sweetest hosts: D’na and her furry on-site attendants, T’Challa and Huckleberry. The kitty friends gave us several tours of the property and would return to us throughout our stay for belly rubs and games of hide-and-seek.

Inside the Lily Pad, we spent most of our time in the colorful retro kitchen and would laze on the couches reading books to pass the time.

Outside, we’d perch by the creek and watch the trains roll by while sipping on our morning coffee. When a cloud was approaching, we’d stretch out on the grass to soak up the final rays of the sun, and then dash towards the Bullfrog Lounge (the on-site bar of the Lily Pad) to toast cocktails while listening to the rain.

Needless to say, we found it difficult to leave this house as it provides all the necessary amenities one could possibly want, but when we managed to peel ourselves off the couch, we spent most of our time in downtown Camas which is a 5-minute drive away. Downtown Camas is absolutely charming. Surrounded by trails and a paper mill, this historic town boasts old-time glamour with shopping and dining extravaganzas for all.

The moral of the story: you don’t have to go far to have a good time.

Lacamas Park is huge. If you're lucky, you can spot Camas Lilies (which the town was named after) in the lily field during certain times of the year.

On the hunt for good coffee? Hidden River Roasters is the best place in town for a cuppa. Nestled inside an old house, they boast delicious brews with tasty signature drinks.

Surprisingly, there are numerous options for bagels in this small town. Cedar Street Bagel Company is *the* place. They even have vegan and gluten-free options too!

Downtown Camas is only about 8 blocks and is surrounded by creeks, trails, and the mighty paper mill. Spend hours popping into wine bars, restaurants, antique shops, and even the old movie theatre. This town is full of old-timey charm.
