Daydreaming at Daysy Hill
Adventure in Port Campbell, Great Ocean Road, VIC, AU
On the doorstep of the 12 Apostles and the Great Ocean Road, we checked in to our stay at the wonderful Daysy Hill Cottages. We spent our days exploring the local area and our evenings relaxing by the fireplace and watching the sunset from our balcony. The stress melted away as soon as we arrived!
We checked out the local town of Timboon, just up the road from our cottage, and got to experience all the amazing local produce it has to offer. Breakfast at the Fat Cow, followed by a whisky tasting at the Railway Shed distillery were both highlights. We then walked through town to the Timboon Fine Ice Cream shop and even got a little scoop of dog-friendly ice cream for our puppy, Beau (which he loved)!
On the way home, we stopped at The Corner Store and picked up some pasta, sauce & wine for dinner. As the sun set over the hills we cooked our dinner (with some fresh rosemary from the garden) and watched the sunset.
Our last day was spent out and about exploring Port Campbell. We had a delicious breakfast at Forage on The Foreshore before walking down to the lookout and watching the surfers. We then jumped in the car and headed to the dog-friendly walking track to check out the absolutely stunning views of the Bay of Martyrs from Halladale Point (which definitely rivals the 12 Apostles)!
We cannot recommend Daysy Hill Cottages enough for a comfortable and cosy stay, with so much to see and do in the area. Best of all, our entire trip was dog friendly!

A definite highlight of our trip - is whisky tasting in Timboon! The friendly and knowledgeable staff were able to recommend some delicious Australian whiskies (and cocktails) to try, and even accommodated our puppy. The tasting platter was excellent and we even grabbed a bottle of local whisky on our way out.
Just a short walk from the centre of town, we tried a selection of locally produced ice creams. There was even a puppy-friendly scoop for Beau! It was the perfect way to relax in the sunshine for our afternoon.
We took a stroll along Port Campbell's stunning beach. With a coffee in hand, we walked through town to the lookout at The Point and watched the surfers.
A view that rivals the 12 Apostles - Halladale Point! Just up the road from Port Campbell, we explored this dog-friendly walking track. It was the perfect end to our trip!
We stopped into The Corner Store for some much-needed dinner supplies. We picked up a bottle of wine, as well as some local pasta and a pre-made sauce!
Just out the back of our cottage was a path that lead to a beautiful view of rolling green hills! We saw fish, sheep, chickens and a friendly dog who Beau made friends with. There was even a picnic table ready to go!
Right next to the stunning beach in Port Campbell, we had breakfast at Forage on The Foreshore. We sat outside under the umbrellas and just took in the fresh air. The food and coffee were also excellent!
Our first stop in Timboon certainly did not disappoint! Delicious coffee and a relaxing and friendly atmosphere welcomed us into town. The food was amazing too and the perfect start to the day!
