Pulling up to the cheery front porch of the Quilted Pony felt familiar, just like pulling up to the front door of your childhood home. As we walked in the front door, light from the skylight filled the kitchen with warmth and welcomed us alongside some delightful treats and a thoughtful note. We were particularly gleeful to see a little placard on the wall with instructions for making pancakes!

The way the Quilted Pony is tucked back in the trees makes you feel like you're truly stepping away from your everyday life. We got a fire going, almost immediately, in a lovely stone fire pit and settled in to make some hot dogs and s'mores. After enjoying some board games and deep night's sleep, we followed the instructions and prepared some pancakes before striking out to find a hiking trail between spurts of rain.

We retreated back into the cozy comfort of the Quilted Pony as an overnight storm rolled in. Sitting in the hot tub on the back porch and listening to the rain pelt the roof was the perfect way to wrap up our relaxing little runaway.
