Groovy Getaway in Glenaire

After a scenic drive through lush, towering trees and rolling hills – broken up by a couple of adventures at Lake Elizabeth and Stevensons Falls – we arrived at our groovy getaway with our furry friend in tow. Entering the cabin felt like travelling back in time thanks to its 70s charm, and after a delicious dinner at the nearby restaurant, The Perch, we spent the night listening to the records of Simon & Garfunkel and Ella Fitzgerald by the cosy fireplace.

The next morning, we got up bright and early and watched the sunrise over the mountain and enjoyed the ocean view from our balcony. We were greeted by crimson rosellas during our morning coffee, who came for a bite to eat before we ventured off to chase more waterfalls at Beauchamp Falls and explore the magnificent Redwood Forest. Sunset was spent admiring the pink skies and crashing waves at the Castle Cove lookout, conveniently down the road from our cottage. After a full day of exploring, a spa bath and a glass of wine was the perfect way to wind down.

Before heading back home, we stopped at the dog-friendly Johanna Beach, which felt like our own private spot with a stunning view. It was the perfect way to wrap up our time at The Forest Cabin, which proved to be the perfect stay for nature and adventure lovers (with or without furry friends). It's all too easy to explore the Great Ocean Road and Otways, or to simply have a relaxing and groovy time.
