Experiencing an 1860s Australian Cottage

We had the loveliest experience at the Cottage at Dunmore. Bec and Angus are amazing hosts and made us fill right at home. During a short introduction to the farm, Angus explained the restoration process behind this 1860s Australian cottage and how they kept its original architecture before adding innovation and comfort through the beautiful interior design.

The weekend was the perfect escape for our little family, so relaxing and chill. We got to pick some lavender flowers in the yard to prepare a special soak in the bath and our daughter loved the variety of books and the secret, toy-filled drawer under the bunk bed.

During our stay, we got to explore on a short hike to Paradise Falls and also stopped at Bright on our way back home to enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery. Thank you for having us, Bec and Angus, and for allowing us to experience this unique cottage and a little bit of the country life.

On the way to Bright, you can stop by Braithwaites Plantation for a forest walk, a photography mission or an excuse to smell the fresh air. It's a small, pine forest that is perfectly aligned with Mount Buffalo. I never thought it could be so amazingly captured by a drone flight.

The name makes a big promise but Paradise Falls was worth the effort. It's a showery fall underneath a massive red rock formation and the best time to visit is in spring when the water volume is at its peak.

On the way to Paradise Falls, you'll drive through a beautiful winery region. It's definitely worth stopping by to try the local wine if you have time.

We all know that Bright in autumn is reason enough to take a road trip to the High Country. This was the best autumn bliss we'd had in such a long time.

On the way back home, we decided to stop by Red Stag Farm and capture some images of these amazing animals.

Being able to pick flowers on the property and enhance our bath experience was the highlight of the stay.
