Misty Mornings in Waukivory

Late autumn in the Barrington Hinterland is a beautiful experience. Low-lying clouds and rolling fog create a picturesque backdrop to green hills and aubrey-coloured trees scattered across the countryside. With an incredible history dating back to 1913, Waukivory School House is the perfect place to become immersed in nature and ground yourself.

Located 10 minutes out of Gloucester, and nestled in Waukivory, this converted school house offers all the amenities and quirky extras you could ever need, as well as a dreamy garden to explore. This is the perfect place to bring your fluffy best friend, cosy up around the fireplace or enjoy a spa out in the fresh Barrington air. Monte the scapegoat and the chickens came to greet us after breakfast the next morning, looking for some feed that Katherine, the gracious host, had kindly provided.

Gloucester has plenty of cafes and boutiques to venture out to. But if exploring nature is more your thing, then the wider Barrington area has no shortage of trails, waterways, and mountains to check out.

Monte the scapegoat, and the chickens, will want to say hello when you visit. Feeding the farm animals with the food that Katherine, the lovely owner, kindly left for us was a truly wonderful experience to wake up to each morning.

The grandiose view of Bucketts Mountain can be seen from the main shopping district in Glouster, called Church Street. Gloucester has plenty of cafes and boutiques to explore, and you have to try the coffee at Common, which has plenty of delicious food options too.
