Hecta Beach Getaway
Adventure in Florence, Central Coast, OR, US
We drove up to this charming beach house on a sunny evening and were immediately greeted by a breathtaking view of the coast. My husband and I quickly dropped our things inside so we wouldn’t miss the sunset on the beach just behind the house. We walked the short trail through the sand dunes with our dog and made it to the beach just in time for an epic sunset that turned the sky purple.
The next morning, my husband and I cooked breakfast together and ate it on the back porch with the sound of ocean waves and birds chirping above. Then we drove into town for some coffee at River Roasters and sipped on our mochas with a view of the Siuslaw River Bridge. The sun was out, so we took our dog to Honeyman State Park and let him run his heart out on the sand dunes. There was a beautiful lake I would have been tempted to swim in if the weather had been warmer!
Back at the beach house in the evening, we couldn’t help but go for another beach walk with our pup. We came back up to the house after the sun went down, cold and a little sandy. I took a warm bath in the huge tub in the master bathroom and my feet were happy to be greeted by heated floors after my soak. The whole house was comfortable, from the spacious living room with a cozy fireplace, to the master bedroom with a wall of windows looking out at the ocean. We loved every second of our little get away on Hecta Beach....
